Absolutely disgusting! I don't know what's people's fascination with allowing so many damn cats to occupy a home! Every home that's had a cat I've walked in to during my life, I've always smelled that stinking litter box! How do cat owners tolerate the stench? Is it that avoidable? The cats take a ####### in a box. They roll the ####### around with their paws and bury it. Then they jump and walk all over kitchen counters where food is prepared. Not to mention all the other places they walk all over the house with their crappy paws. I don't get it. I can't be convinced that cats are clean animals.

Solution: make it an outdoor cat. Otherwise clean the litter box daily and don't let cats walk in food prep areas. GROSS, not cute.

My sister uses the puppy pads for grown dogs so she has trained them to ###### in the house When we visit our mom she brings the pad and the dogs piss and sh!it on it. So gross. I just think my sister is lazy.

I don't think there are many (read none) cultures that think living in 2-3 inches of animal feces and dead bodies is normal. But if there are, please tell me so that I can avoid visiting.

Closest to this that comes to mind is the cult MOVE (whose base-home on Osage Av, Philly was clumsily destroyed on Wilson Goode's orders in 1985; it had gotten to Osage Av after a previous home had been shut down and demolished on the orders of Frank Rizzo--for lots of reasons including health-code violations).

More-or-less vanished after 1985.

this truly is a disorder. Oprah did a show on it once with about 6 guests. They were all living something like this, not all with animals, but under tons of other garbage. Really sad.

This thread has me LMAO! The one question I have is, why are cats the chosen animal of the mentally unbalanced? I never read or hear of reports about someone having 300 dogs in their home living among their owner. It's always an unpresidented amount of cats and old ladies. Bravo to those who have NO cat smell to their homes! I've never been there, so I wouldn't know. I would know if I did enter your home. I don't suppose you would invite me over?

For the geniuses who find it so humorous about a dog, male or female, licking their crotches then licking a human. Each dog I've had, that was one of the habits, I would break the dog of being able to do so. Amongst the other obvious things I did not want the dog to do. My dog lives outside where she offers my family protection from those wishing to steal from me or harm my family. That includes that occasional cat that makes the mistake of getting into my yard trying to eat my dog's food. The only reason is whomever owns that cat doesn't feed them. Once my dog gets a hold of a cat, that 9th life is gone. It's her yard, her right to protect it how she wants. I didn't have to train her for that task.

I just don't understand why it doesn't bother someone that their cat(s) naturally take a dump, uses it's paws to bury it, carries the bacteria within their paws and/or claws, let it walk freely around the home, onto the kitchen counters and dining table where people eat? It appears to that it's an invitation for guest's to come over and eat out of the litter box without their knowledge. It's just the same logic as those who get dog ####### on their shoe, wherever they walk, it's going to leave the bacteria where they step.

Why are you trying to turn this into a cat vs dog thread? Honestly, who cares what's better....and obviously you have your preferences, so bravo to you. But I can't help but read that you have quite a thing against cats, which seems a bit strange to me, but hey, whatever floats your boat!

I think cats are easier to hoard cos they're smaller and more self-sufficient? That's just my speculation tho.

ETA: it's guests, plural not guest's as in belonging to one guest....but that's my apparant thing against misused apostrophes
