We sent our petition I209F, but 10 days later we discovered that we did the wrong part. What happens now?
Can we send a new petition or do we have to wait for the return of the first to be corrected?

Thank you all, I hope someone can help me

O que você fez de errado? Todos dependem do que é errado na sua petição.

We forgot to send the proof that we know personally

What do you mean by wrong part?

if anything is wrong, it's best to wait for your package to be returned or to get a rfe and go from there. It will cause more trouble to send another package

Se você enviou o formulário correto (i129f) com a taxa correta, você está recebendo um rfe para qualquer documento faltando. Portanto, esteja preparado e aguarde.

We are sure that we have sent the right process, just missing the documents proving that we met in person this year
So we just have to wait now, you have no idea if this takes too long and it will slow down the whole process. This RFE is sent by mail

As already stated, you will need to wait. They will send a request for more evidence for whatever it's missing on your application to get it approved, there's not really a time frame for that, but I'd say you'll hear something within 5 months. Once you get the mail, send your evidence back as soon as possible so they can review it and approve it or not. A rfe adds around a month or so, so you're looking at around 6 months for this first part to be done.

Are 5 months just setting the RFE?

5 months is the maximum i guess. We have done everything right, well thanks to Rapid Visa tho, which reviews all our paperworks before sending to the USCIS but till now we havent heard anything from the service center. They received our paperwork last March 16.

Cerca de 5 meses para obter o rfe , sim.

This means that the process will be stopped for up to 5 months and only after receiving the rfe and sending the corrections, I will receive the NOA01

No. You should receive noa1 as soon as they receive your package at the lockbox and your check is cleared.

they set their processing times to within 5 months to adjudicate a petition. So you should expect them to get to your petition around 5 months of filing, and because you did not send all the supporting documents needed, you should expect a rfe instead of an approval/ denial.

after receiving rfe and sending them the correct paperwork they can actually approve or deny your petition

so, as already stated, you'd be looking at around 6 months to be done with this first step of the process

Depending on what you forgot to send you might receive a NOID, people who only send the i-129f form seem to get this one. But if you sent everything that is on the checklist (passport style photos, copies of birth certificates/bio pages in passport, letters of intent etc) apart from proof of having met in person within the last 2 years you will only receive an RFE where they ask for those documents.

Something similar happen to me too but later on they sent me a request of evidence and then I was able to gather everything I needed and sent it again , you can also call them and explain them your situation and they can guide you exactly about what you can do .
