So i got a checklist saying my father does not make enough Money has 7 dependents including me and the beneficiary He made 144,000$ for the year 2016 He's a Joint sponsor and he submitted the i864 but they gave us a checklist for the I864A Form?? Makes no sense

Does he live in the same household as you or do you claim him as a dependent in your most recent year tax filing? If yes to either or both, he needs to complete a I-864a instead.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

hes a joint sponsor and i live in his household so i don't think it would be I-864A because he would still have to claim 6 other dependents

Maybe the officer is mistaken like me i.e. thinking he lives in the same address/household therefore it should have been the I-864A. Now I really wonder :jest:

The i864A instructions state..

Form I-864A, Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member, is an attachment to Form I-864, Af davit of Support Under Section 213A of the INA. A separate Form I-864A must be used for each household member whose income and/or assets are being used by a sponsor to qualify. Each Form I-864A is completed and signed by two individuals: a sponsor who is completing Form I-864 and a household member who is promising to make his or her income

and/or assets available to the sponsor to help support the sponsored immigrants. The combined signing of this contract constitutes an agreement that the household member is responsible along with the sponsor for the support of the individuals named in this contract.

This contract must be submitted with Form I-864.
