The forms have changed since i filed in march... but after getting now to the nvc part waiting on her embassy to get it for the interview ill stress this... be very honest and check and recheck the forms... one lie or misinformation can cause major issues early or latter during the interview... im not sure of your fiances nationality but some embassies are tougher than others... make sure to check all the boxes seen lots of people in my group get rfe ( requests for further evidence) for one missed box not checked...that could be a two week to month mistake...

Join here and read the discussions on the k1 pages.. lots of info...

And ask questions most will answer... create a profile and fill in the infopeople from them consolutes and nationalities or partner preference will help with thier experiences...ive not really seen any true negativity on the site except us all whinning a little about the long wait...yes wait times are going up...the process is slowing down it seems..good luck and welcome to the forum..

Thank you so much I will be asking lots of questions while going through this process. I'm happy I finally can relate to people that have gone through the process or is still in the process. My fiancé is in Dominican Republic and some things are a little confusing as far as their address and how to put it on the application as it is not like our address here. I will have to add onto my profile as I just made it thanks again.

If you click on portals you can look at the DR consult page... under k1 you can find the month you file under if its created yet or past months filers like march filers or aprils etc... I think there were two couples  from the DR that were approved in the march group this week, i could be mistaken but i thinl... as far as the addresses uh yes.. the Philippines addresses are crazy... and typically dont even deliver there they have to go pick it up... lolol gl...

is it a good idea to send the documents to my fiancé in the Dominican and have him sign and return to me or travel to him and get everything signed while over there.?

For the I-129F, the only thing the beneficiary needs to sign is a letter of intent to marry. They can print, sign, scan, and send that to you to you to print. The petitioner should still provide all "wet" signatures (not scanned/printed ones).

After the I-129F is approved but before he goes to the interview, you will need to provide a signed I-134 (+ supporting documents). That should also be a wet signature, so you will need to mail it to him (or otherwise hand it to him...i.e. if you visit and attend the interview with him).

It needs to be a US passport-eligible photo. The exact specifications are in the I-129F instructions (excerpt below). Any photo that meets these requirements can be used. Your fiance can either take a new photo and physically send it to you, or he can send a digital copy for you to print. Personally, I had my fiancee send me a digital photo, which I printed it at Walgreens (albeit on a 4"x6", which was then physically cut to 2"x2"...via http://www.idphoto4you.com/).

"Photographs

You must submit one color passport-style photograph of yourself and one color passport-style photograph of the beneficiary taken within 30 days of filing this petition. The photos must have a white to off-white background, be printed on thin paper with a glossy finish, and be unmounted and unretouched.

The color passport-style photos must be 2 by 2 inches. The photos must be in color with full face, frontal view on a white to off-white background. Head height should measure 1 to 1 3/8 inches from top of hair to bottom of chin, and eye height is between 1 1/8 to 1 3/8 inches from bottom of photo. Your head must be bare unless you are wearing headwear as required by a religious denomination of which you are a member. Using a pencil or felt pen, lightly print your name and A-Number (if any) on the back of the photo."

So i know when flying you need a passport. The beneficiary will need to have a passport and the k-1 visa right.?

Yes. He will submit her passport (hopefully at the interview if it goes well) and they will put the visa inside the passport then send it back to her.
