Electronic i-94 not showing my entry in the US!

Hi everyone,

I don't know if I'm posting this in the right place or if anyone will be able to help...

So I entered the US two weeks ago (July 14th) and was patiently waiting for the 2 weeks in to go get my SSN. In the list of things needed was a print of the I-94.

When I tried to get it, I realized it did not show my last entry (July 14th) but was still showing my last entry as a tourist in March. I tried calling the closest CBP several times, got a bunch of different answers, the last one being I wouldn't get an I-94 because I'm on a K1.

What should I do ? I saw it is required for the AOS too.

I guess you could keep calling? The last answer you received is definitely wrong. My fiance is on a k1 and she definitely has an i94.  It's possible that your latest entry isn't in the system yet, but I thought that normally it's almost instant, since we're electronic now. (I know I still had to wait a few days)

I'm sorry you're going through this, it's definitely odd. I'd suggest calling again and keep checking, because it could just take a couple more days.

Have you tried different spellings of your name? Or an entry date one day before or after the real date? They make those mistakes often.

If none of that works, you can try going to a deferred inspection site to have it cleared up.

Yes I think I'm gonna ask my fiance to call again... That lady was so mean on the phone, like so irritated and definitely didn't wanna help.

I also thought it was odd, I've never heard on a 2 weeks delay in updating the entry. I'm also worried because the system was down when I got to the POE, so maybe something didn't work because of that.

Thank you for your response ! I feel like every step of the process has to present new problems :(

Thanks, I think I'll have to go there. It's just hard to do because my fiance works full time and I can't drive because I don't have a license yet :/

I had this happen to me because I entered at a POE where they were absolutely clueless how to process a K-1 entry. I waited a few days and it still wasn't showing up so I went to the CBP office at the international airport in my new city. Originally the officer thought I'd have to file the below form for an initial I-94 since I didn't have one, but after some digging he found out that it wasn't showing online when I entered my details because the POE officers had logged my last name twice (so to use a fake name example, instead of my last name being Jones in the system, it was entered as JonesJones). They're able to do corrections at the airport CBP offices IF it's a CBP error (and not an error on the USCIS end), so he fixed it and printed me a paper copy and I was able to see it online as soon as I got home.

So hopefully it's a spelling error on your end, if not, this is the form I was directed to and would have had to fill out had he not figured out the real issue. https://www.uscis.gov/i-102

Thank you so much ! It makes so much sense because the officer had no clue on how to process my K1 entry either... He asked someone what he needed to do and that person just said "make sure she's legit" lol. I really hope I don't have to fill that form you just posted, there's a 445$ fee :o That would be an expensive price to pay for someone else's mistake

Yes it would! I hope yours is a simple correction too. Maybe you could try some of those most common mistakes on the I-94 database to see if you get lucky. I.e. Type your first name twice or last name twice or if people commonly make spelling errors in either name then try those. It can't hurt!

Ok so I called again and they basically called me a scam and said I sounded very fishy for wanting to have that form so bad. So I said "well I'm sorry but I do need that form for AOS and getting a SSN so I can get a driving license and everything" and the woman answered I sounded like I was trying to scam someone. So I really don't know what to do anymore and I'm probably gonna be in trouble for it now. I'm so tired of everything being so complicated

If anything, call the Federal line, not the local CBP.

Contact is here: https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1208/

Your i-94 is tied to your passport number. They can easily pull that up and get ALL entries under that number, whether it's in your name or a name with a typo. At the very least, see if they will be willing to give you the name the entry was actually filed under for that passport number of yours. If you have that, you can pull up the record online without them needing to print it. If they pull up that passport number and see a typo in the system, they'd be completely foolish not to be willing to fix that.

If they STILL give you the run around, go down to the airport (or border crossing) and show up in person to talk to CBP. Stop calling in and talking to suspicious hot heads. If your i-94 shows your last entry, it will also show your last departure. If that's the case, you've obviously entered again if you're physically in the US. They NEED to find that record, because it definitely exists.

my fiancee (now wife) had this issue, also was gathering documents for SSN. I called CBP and they told she has to came back to airport because they didn't take her fingerprints (so she wasn't in the system). We went back and got i-94 right there.

I cleaned My Timeline. Hope nobody minds

I had a similar situation. I entered the US an a visitor. My wife and I decided to file my (i-130), when I tried to look up my I-94 it was not showing up. So I called the CBP at the port of entry and they did not have any record my entrance into the country. So after a bunch of calls, I contacted my closet Deferred inspection center of CBP. They took down all the information and said they would contact me and they never did. After calling up a few times to follow up, the called me on a sunday afternoon and asked me to come in.

Long story short, apparently when I was entering the CBP officer overlooked a step required to process me, and that caused the system to record me as not entering. They did a quick interview and updated the records.

So my suggestion is to contact the closet Deferred inspection center and try to sort it out with their help.
