Moved to a different state after 5 months waiting on GC

Hello guys,

 

I came to the US as a K1 visa holder and we got married in January 2017, in Oklahoma. Submitted my process for Adjustment of Status with Combo CARD and got my NOA1 in January 30, 2017. I have done biometrics in Oklahoma as well, in 23rd February I believe. My husband got a job offer to move to Pittsburgh and we moved out here. So I moved the address as it is recommended through the online form and he also submitted his change of address via USPS to the USCIS in Vermont. Everything okay. Oh, I also received my combo CARD in May while we were still in OKC. My question is: My process has 179 days since last status change, and now that I moved the address from OKC to Pittsburgh, PA, is it supposed to take longer because my process would be transferred and go to the end of the pile again? Or can I expect same time frame because the change of address doesn't change the actual USCIS service centre that my process first got in?

P.S.: Also, I am asking this because we might need to move again, so I don't know what to think in order to act properly.

because you're adjusting from a k1, you may not have an interview. What does your status online say for the i485?

in theory, your interview will take as long as the processing times for your local office. So right now it should be the pa one. If you move again you are required to change addresses again not only for your cases but for the i864, and then again your processing times change according to your new field office.

My current status states: FINGERPRINT FEE WAS RECEIVED. I have done the biometrics and have my combo card already. Thanks again.

So you can still skip your interview. 

Just be on top of your case, keep an eye on the online status, change addresses whenever you do move and try calling them every month or so to speak to a tier 2 officer and get updates on your case because of the address change and also because the online status is not that reliable
