Expediting Advance Parole

I am trying to get some help with expediting advance parole or learn from anyone who has had a successful expedited AP. My full story is here—but essentially, I applied for my GC in April and expected to have my AP/EAD card soon, if not already. My sister's wedding is coming up outside of the country and me and my wife had already booked our flight sand hotels etc., and would be terrible to miss out on such a big event. 

 

Has anyone ad any success in expediting advance parole in similar situations? The delay in our process seems to be because of a USCIS administrative error, there was actually nothing wrong with our forms, but they sent a RFIE anyway.

Sit tight, you should have it soon.  Expedites are not given out for this reason normally.  

Also you broke rule number 1, never pay out money until documents are in hand

USCIS doesn't "just" send RFIE/RFE's. Clearly something was missing from the USCIS's point of view. I received my employment card 64 days after my RFIE response was received.

Never ever make plans outside the country and pay upfront. It'll cause more stress and disappointment, if not anger when it goes wrong (e.g. not receiving the proper documents in time). Making such plans rarely goes as planned.

Needing AP to attend a wedding is not considered an emergency. You can apply for emergency AP, but I honestly would not be hopeful in having it approved.

 

AP is currently taking about 90-120 days on average. While the 60-90 days was common in the past, 90-120 days has been pretty consistent for the better part of a year now. I'm not sure why your lawyer implied your AP application would be complete within 60 days (even without an RFIE). That hasn't even been likely in a long time.

Also if should be noted that at this point asking for an expedite can indeed slow it down
