New process for scheduling intetviews in Kiev?

Hello everyone. My finance received packet 3 a few weeks ago from Kiev but yesterday received a letter from the embassy saying the website instructions for scheduling the interview are no longer correct. There seems to be a new process that began March 26 that involves calling the embassy instead of submitting the KEV-1. They want $20 for this call. Does anyone know anything about this? I searched but came up empty handed. Thanks in advance. Donny

If you are speaking of the new call center then you do not call the Embassy but you call a Call center located in Poland... The cost is $12 for up to 8 minutes of conversation...

The Ukraine call center telephone number is 044-207-7071.

If calling from the United States ..........the telephone number is 1-888-889-3780.

I think the KEV-1 form now appears obsolete... but the call center will advise I am sure....

YMMV

I've seen this and it just makes me mad. Seems like they just can't resist ripping us off one more time. At the same time they began offering this call center they also stated they'd no longer receive appointments through emails, so we HAVE to use this call center and pay their ridiculous charges. It makes me sick they charge so much when I know the average salaries for Ukrainians. It seems like they really have no conscience.

Wife's visa journey:

03/19/07: Initial mailing of I-129F.

07/07/11: U.S. Citizenship approved and Oath Ceremony!

MIL's visa journey:

07/26/11: Initial mailing of I-130.

05/22/12: Interview passed!

I agree, the e-mailing of the KEV-1 form was so convenient....

We used this call center already to make an appointment to submit our I130. It was free back then. You have to make sure your phone can handle going through a menu. Not all phones in Ukraine are capable of that. It's related to tone and pulse dialing.

They prompt "If you want to speak English press 1". "If you want to schedule a non immigrant interview press 3".... They might have improved it, but at the time there was no English menu even if you chose it. So it might be easier to just call from Ukraine.

My husband called them twice. The first time he spoke to a lady who did not really speak English well. The second time he spoke to another lady and she was much better. He had to give his passport number, but maybe they ask for a case number instead when you have it.

A little update on the call center in Kyiv, Ukraine. DO NOT CALL them the same day you got your I130 approval notification, especially, if it was emailed to you. I did and they told me that our information was not passed to the call center by the embassy yet. That took about 4 minutes of my 8 minute card. The lady took all of my info before she informed me of that.

By the way, if you are paying with the credit card be prepared to wait a long time before they give you an option to do that. It took about 5-6 minutes for me to finally get the prompt. Thankfully, you are not starting to pay until they connect you to the operator.

Apparently, the call center workers were not prepped for this transition from email to phone interview scheduling properly. The lady on the phone did not know much about different kinds of immigration visas. I am going to call them again today or tomorrow and will update this thread again.
