Ok, so you MUST file for advance parole, which is $575.Will take about couple of months for the process depending on your location. When do you expect your interview? You dont want to pay the fees only to learn your interview will be over lapping with the marriage. I suggest you wait for your green card before returning back. With Trump running this country things can get crazy but again I am not a lawyer.

Please don't give wrong advise.

I mean is your visa expired? Do you have green card application pending? Unless you dont have a valid visa or green card no reason to use advance parole.

It is actually up to OP to decide if there is a reason to travel.

Besides, only US citizens are guaranteed the entry, so  it doesn't really matter what you use to come back - a green card or AP. The only difference is that with AP you most likely will be pulled to a secondary, with a green card you can go through "US citizens" corridor.

I personally traveled with AP twice - not a problem AT ALL..

OP, if you have a layover on your way back (another flight within US), you just should plan the flight with enough time during connection in case if you are pulled to the secondary. .. almost like it was when you entered on a K1 visa
Other than that -you should be fine :)

Have a safe trip!!!!

Visiting family and a wedding, still don't know if I will use it, that's why I'm asking around :)

I'm from Mexico :P and it will be just a 3 weeks trip or less.

Hello, yes we have had experience with AP. Two times. One by air in Toronto airport US Processing Unit and the other time coming back from Vancouver at Bellingham WA.

The Toronto Airport one was a breeze. He just stamped Advance Parole into the passport. The second time was in Bellingham WA. Had to have Secondary inspection. He was nervous and answered a couple of questions wrong. So there was more questioning and also why wasnt there an I-94 White Card in his passport. The CPB Officer ran her hands across the passport to see if we removed the card and the mark of the staples were there. It just depends who you get.

The only somewhat grey area is DACA holders or other previous long overstays using AP

This is no longer the case per Matters of Arrabally and Yerrabelly, which held that someone subject to the 3 or 10 year bars who nevertheless has a valid grant of AP through a pending I-485 doesn't make a "departure" and so doesn't trigger those bars when they leave.
