FEES ?!?!?!? I-485 / I-130 Rejected

Hi ALL..

 

I am totally perplexed.

 

I did a concurrent filing of a  I-485  and  I-130

I enclosed   2   separate checks.

 $1140  for the  I-485 

$ 535  for the  I-130

 

BOTH  applications were rejected because of incorrect Fees.

 

I checked the current Fee  page of  USCIS and the amounts I sent appear to be correct. 

 

 

HELP !!!!!!!

It's $1225 for the i485 ($85 biometrics fee stated in instructions).

It was my understanding that the Biometric Fee did not have to be included at the time

the I-485 was filed, and that it was paid only if the I-485 was approved.  

 

Any idea about why the  I-130  Fee was incorrect?

No, it has to be paid up-front. You do the biometrics before the approval of the i485. Perhaps you are thinking about if you sent the i130 alone first, and waited for its approval before sending the i485.

Yes...    sorry..  I was referring to the  I-130.

I did a  concurrent filing with the  I-485.

I know, yea - that's why you need it - sorry for the delay but you just need to resend it with the correct amounts and all will be good.

If you look at the I-485 instructions, you'll see that it does not say the biometrics fee is only paid when the AOS is approved The biometrics fee is specifically mentioned under the filing fee.

 

Hmm... I-130 is definitely $535.

I think a few people posted that their I-765 was sent back when filed concurrently with the I-485 and I-131 with the correct fee and while the latter were NOA1-ed just fine. Proof that human makes mistakes all the time, federal employees included

Yes, that's the ones I was thinking about as well... really really annoying.. but again as for OP - not much to do but re-file and move on with your life.. hahaha

Hi did you resubmit and what was the outcome and reason? I am in the same situation and looks like I just need an additional $85 for biometric fees. Is that what you did later?
