Welcome to VJ.

As a point of correction, Insurance may follow the car, but if you live at the same residence you need to be listed as a driver. Being that you have experience as a driver the rates will not be the highest. but it will likely add to the premiums.

I don't think she would be considered a household member though until she actually moves here. She still has residence in the UK. If I had an out-of-town guest staying with me and using my car, they would not be considered a household member and would not need to be listed as an occasional driver in order to be covered. Always best to check with the company to be sure.

true, but when she does move here, she will need to be added by name to the policy.

I am merely making the point that if she is not added once she moves here, if there is an accident, insurance will not cover it

Welcome and good luck! BTW, when my fiance came over we went on a road trip and I enquired if he needed to be added & basically the price was atrocious because he was not a US resident with no valid US driver's license

Then again, we weren't married, so I'm sure that changes things.

There is a UK regional subforum forum here and our resident lush Mags is always making jugs of Pimms and pushing them on people :P :P :P

Good luck!
