I'm in a long distance relationship and have been for just over two years now but the first time I travelled and met my partner was nearly a year ago. I'm very intimidated by all of the forms and rules needed for everything. I'm confused on how and where to start, if anyone could help me or lead me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated! I am deeply in love with my partner and will do anything to get there with her.

It can seem quite intimidating at first but with a little reading and Q&A it will all become clear. Here is the VJ guide:

It is a little outdated as the G325 is no longer required since of earlier this year when the i129f form was updated to include this info.

 

Other than that google i129f instructions and read it as were it your bible

In short the process starts with the USC petitioner sending the i129f petition along with payment and supporting documents to the USCIS, they (the petitioner) will receive a NOA1 (Notice of Action 1) which is the receipt for USCIS accepting your application. After that you wait and wait for either an RFE (Request For Evidence, so take care in assembling everything that is required with the original submission as to avoid the added time in having to answer an rfe) or the NOA2 which will be the approval notice. If you create and fill out your VJ Timeline when you file you will be given an estimated processing time for you submission - and it helps add data to those same predictions for others on VJ.

 

After the approval the USCIS sends your package to the NVC (National Visa Center) - where it just lands briefly to receive a case file number and is then forwarded to the correct embassy. Once it is at the embassy it will become time for the beneficiary to do the K1 visa application at the embassy, which includes, filing the online DS160 (actual visa application form), having a medical, collecting required documents, booking interview appointment (for some embassies it is booked for you). BUT start at the beginning and look into assembling and collecting documents for the i129f petition

Oh! Almost forgot! You will most likely be an August filer - once the month starts you can look under this forum http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/128-k-1-fiancee-visa-case-filing-and-progress-reports/

for "129f August 2017 filers" - not created yet (feel free to do so if you will file in August  ), where fellow filers support one another, ask questions and keep each other updated on progress of their cases and just vent as well. It was a great support for me.
