My finance was just issued his visa (K-1), but we immediately noticed that there is a typo on it. It lists my fiancés gender as "F" rather than "M". I am 99.9% sure that all of the paperwork we submitted was correct. My fiance is going to try to contact the embassy where he had his interview. Is there anything else we can do to quickly correct this? Should he try to travel on this visa, even though it has a typo? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Congratulations on the visa!

If I were you I'd contact the embassy as this is an official document. Better to be safe than sorry. The customs officer at the POE will most likely be confused if the visa states "F" and your fiancé is a male with "M" on his passport. Also this is the due diligence of your fiancé to ensure all the documentation is correct and accurate. Should be a quick fix any the embassy. They will advise you on any next steps.
