Hello all. First time posting here but I won't digress much.

My fiancee in the Philippines has just done her interview but here's the catch: consular officer took her passport and related documents, but neither stated/denied of visa. Additionally, quoting from her words, "There is a criminal record mishap and the interviewer needs more research". Moreover, the CEAC posts our case as Administrative Processing.

A lot of texts above, but I only see all of this as setbacks, which further delays plans. What boggles me is a mishap of criminal record on my end.... doesn't wrap anywhere in my mind because I would know if I have such record first-hand, the military police would have seen it, our military legal team would also get an archive of it, my commander would get a pile as well, heck the recruiting center might even have a copy of it, and it will be well-known in my unit that I am not, "clean". This is false, and it's a fact. I am an Active Duty Air Force Enlistee.

Help us be at ease: if you guys have/had similar experience, please share your journey and fix-actions you guys have done.

At least they took her passport, which is a good sign.

Maybe because of the use the word "mishap" what happened is that they didn't get her criminal record, or they misplaced it, or something? Usually the consulate does their own background checks on people.

No sir, they said mine. She's cleared.

I suppose. The officer found a hit on me (not her) apparently, which fries my brain with the question: how come my own military legal team or even the military police do not have such existing record but the US Embassy overseas does.
They probably use some 2000's database.

Is possible it is her background they are double checking. Yours background was already checked in USCIS and all stages. Maybe she has a similar name to someone in their database there and that triggered something. Hard to say.

You posted before I could; and as to military police checks/records and such, I was in the military, and with all do respect, they aren't always the sharpest or brightest of people.

Have you had any criminal record that was cleared up previously? How do you know it's not on her?

None sir. Zero crime. I would've known AND have a copy if there was.
