ORLANDO area - civil surgeons

Hey fellow VJers.

Your posts have been most helpful as we prepare to send out my fiance's AOS packet.

I've read a lot about the I-693A vaccination supplement and now I understand what I'm expected to send, and that it's worth getting that form instead of sending the DS-3025.

I called two doctors in the Orlando area and the secretaries of course think my fiance needs a physical. I actually read from the I-485 directions for one lady, and explained how my fiance is not allowed into the country without an HIV test.

I was finally quoted $25 for the transfer of vaccine info from DS-3025 to I693A (thank you whoever explained that some doctors get that confused with the I-693!!!). I was sure to explain that we only need the vaccination supplement.

Anyway, does anyone from the Orlando area know of any other doctor who may be cheaper - or even better who they visited and had a quick and easy visit?

Ok - that's good to know. I'd read $15-20 and figured that the amount we'll be charge is about average.

The first doctor's office I spoke to told me we'd be charged for an immigration appointment and the doctor may need to do a physical - um....no thanks.

We live in Orlando, but my wife needed the whole thing done (I-693)... if you want I can give you the doctor's name and number. He is in Altamonte Springs, and we live in Metrowest which is a loooong way, but his price was $125 for medical and $70 for blood test, while others were charging over $350...so the 40 min. drive was worth what we saved, but I doubt you will find anything cheaper than $25 bucks, which is a bargain compared to what we paid.

We're going to the doctor (who charges $25) tomorrow. The other one just wants our money and an unnecessary physical. It seems no one in that office knows what they're talking about anyway.

I just wondered if there was something else out there in the Orlando area.

If not, we'll go to this doctor - who is an actor btw. I think I may watch his movie tonight...

Yea, I sent a list of the civil surgeons in the Orlando area to a good friend of mine to ask her which is office closer to my house because I haven't lived here long. She said that the doctor (listed above) is an actor in Haitain movies. He's pretty involved in Miami with politics (helping his fellow Haitains at the same time). She said she just bought/watched a movie with him in it and I should check it out.

When I talked to his secretary she said he's a doctor and a lawyer and actor. Apparently he's pretty well-known in Haiti (and Miami).
