Hello,

I am curious to know if it is possible to apply for an EAD card for form I-765 with no filing fee after forms I-130 and I-485 is submitted? Or must it be submitted concurrently? We are still trying to figure out how the application works based on changing the EAD card from OPT to green card status.

Great to know! Thank you for responding Scandi! I will contact USCIS again for further information since we are stuck on the first question, not sure if we are to get a new card or renew an existing card since my husbna's current EAD card is under OPT conditions.

An OPT EAD can not be renewed under the new category. You need a new application.

That makes sense. I was a bit confused on what happens if there was already an EAD card. I feel like it was a bit stupid of me to think too hard on it.

Thank you you so much, it is helpful!
