How long does it take before I can check for case status at NVC?

I was able to get a my case number by calling NVC today and it was entered into the system yesterday. But when I went to check the case on their website it is showing that it is an invalid case number. So how long is the wait before it shows up on online for me to check? Thank you

They will be sending you an e-mail with that information as well. I wasn't able to access the system until I received the email It should be a few more days. Check out my timeline in my signature.

If you have your case number, you should be able to see the status right away. Are you entering it under the 'nonimmigrant' visa section? That is a common mistake people make. Try checking for the case status under the 'immigrant' visa type.

it should work right away for me.  I went to this website:

if immigration visa doesn't work, try non-immigration visa on the drop down menu.

Oh it seems to work now but i had to search it with Immigration visa, when i used the nonimmigrant visa on the drop down menu it return an error. But with the Immigrant visa option it shows that it is at the NVC. I am happy that I can track it now.

Nice, within a week, NVC will mail it back to HCM.  Good Luck to you on the rest of the process, maybe I will see you in September there lol

You're right! I was thinking about making the payment. I was able to enter immediately, but not able to pay until I received the email.

Mine took about 2 weeks, after 2 weeks from your NOA2 you can call them at (603) 334-0700 and ask if they have received your case, but it can be up to 30 days to get a case number from them. If they received your case they will give you your case number over the phone.
