Hi all,

Are there are recent threads on different moving options for Canada to the US?

I saw old posts and a lot of people used UPack but those are very old and my quote for the smallest option to ship was quoted at $2300 which it crazy seeing as it's mostly clothing, shoes, and some personal effects that I'm looking to move.

I'm going from BC to Texas.  If anyone has any info or if I've missed a thread that has all the info (the likely case), please let me know.

Thank you!!!

I understand this enterprise is still going strong.  https://www.uship.com/

Compared to a household goods mover who has a 2100# minimum, maybe this would be an option.

Other than this, I wouldn't have any idea, except renting a Penske van

Thank you.  I did post on there and got zero bids.

yeah, I thought that.  BC is really an odd location for a TX shipment.  Don't know when you are going, but if you found a snow bird, that winters in TX, it could work.

Finding that is going to be a needle haystack thing.  Try RV dealership or craigslist.

Just not a lot of options for you.

I've got a good deal recently  with Air Canada Cargo; clothes and shoes are not too heavy, you might want to give them a call.   Other options to look into, UPS and Fedex Ground.

If you don't have furniture and can put everything in boxes you can use shipsmart. I moved a pallet of stuff about 4 1/2 ft high from BC to LA for about $800.

Okay, these are all great suggestions, everyone.  Thank you!  I will look into all of these.  My fiancé said he does think the postal service might be the cheapest way for me.

I'm moving in a week and I haven't planned this out very well.  I had every intention but then found out I'm pregnant and the last month has been work and exhaustion and sleep and constant nausea and very little else.  So....things went quite sideways for me.

We WERE going to drive my stuff down and have a two week road trip with a Vegas wedding in the middle but decided to put that off since I already feel sick all the time and two weeks in a car would be horrible.  Won't fit in my wedding dress anymore either. :(  Oh life, you are funny, aren't you!

Anyway, again, I appreciate the suggestions!!

I moved from Toronto to California 2015 and I paid  about that much for the smallest cube . I thought I had too much packed but when loaded, I had almost 1/2 of the cube empty.  I did not have furniture but mainly personal items . I guess it is for the convenience of your belongings being locked in its own container and not having to worry about boxes being damaged. I had no issues when it got here ( I had some expensive  and sentimental items I worried about).

Good luck!
