I applied for aos on january 4th 2017, status changed to fingerprint fee received on 18 of january 2017. Did biometrics but the status is still on fingerprint fee received since February which is  over 6 months now.

Is this normal? I thought it might had changed to ready to schedule interview or something but none. My field of is newark processing at nbc.

Who is on the same page with me. Please share your views and opinions.

Thanks for your anticipated response

What are you adjusting from? K-1? Tourist/work/student visa?

It's normal for AOS to take a year, in your case it has only been 7 months, you're well within normal processing time. If you arrived on a K-1 you might not even have an interview and it's normal that your status is stuck at "fingerprint fee received" until approval or denial.

Even if you arrived on another visa than the K-1 it's still normal to have that case status, and you can't trust it fully either. My status went straight from "fingerprint fee received" to "interview has been scheduled" for example, it completely skipped the "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" status.

K-1: 12-22-2015 - 09-07-2016

AP: 12-20-2016 - 04-07-2017

EAD: 01-18-2017 - 05-30-2017

AOS: 12-20-2016 - 07-26-2017

ROC: 04-22-2019 - 04-22-2020
Naturalization: 05-01-2020 - 03-16-2021

U.S. passport: 03-30-2021 - 05-08-2021

This is totally normal. We filed for AOS in June 2016 and it stayed on "fingerprint fee received" until April 2017 when it finally changed to "interview ready to be scheduled". Things moved pretty quickly after that and my wife got her green card in June. It may seem like they forgot about your application, but don't worry, they have not. Good luck.
