Question about Eligibility letter

Hi Everyone ,

My fiancé and I have already scheduled our interview for August 8th.  Our case was sent from NVC  to the Embassy on July 14th. Do you guys think it would be at the US Embassy in Manila by now?

I've spoken to them and have not had any luck getting the eligibility letter even though my request was escalated. I hear most cases are sent electronically now. I just want to be sure they have my fiance's case prior to her interview.

Thanks in advance for the replies guys !

It's rare that they wouldn't have your file. In my experience I have not run into anyone not being able to interview because their case file is not there. So I wouldn't worry.  And there is no need to escalate your case. I understand you are nervous and don't want anything to wrong. Just sit back and follow the steps, as it looks like you are and everything will fall into place. So many here worry just like you and when it's over they say to us, wow that wasn't that hard".

Also head on over to Hank's website as it has great information. http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/index.html

Have you checked here https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=stLgYJNY3SVNSD63kBq4ow== for the most current states?

Thanks so much @Greenbaum for the information! That's why I love this site because of all helpful members such as yourself.

My case status has on the CEAC website has actually been showing "Ready" since July 14th.

Just checked out the visaconnection site. Its an awesome site. I'm definitely bookmarking that page on my phone.

Does anyone know if the USEM in Manila actually requires the petitioner's divorce decree to be original/Certified?  I did send my fiance my original divorce decree and AOS but I'm also worried it might not arrive in time for her interview or might get lost in the mail. I wasn't thinking at the time and I sent it USPS. Now I regret it because it's delayed and Phil Post sucks. I've read for some people they did not even ask for the divorce decree. I'm wondering,If worse case scenario she'll be able to take a copy of my divorce decree.

Eligibility Letter ....   only good use is in the CR ... if they used paper.  ;)

Case files are sent digitally plus the physical file.

Everything you need to complete the process is listed in the link below in my signature.

If you want to check you status, use the CEAC website... it is in the link below also

Copies are fine unless the embassy specifically states originals.   A copy of your divorce decree is just fine.. email works for sending that stuff.

Do follow the embassy instructions letter, use it as your checklist.

Email a copy. No need for original documents unless the Embassy Letter so states. Never trust Phil Post.  If it absolutely needs to be there FedEx is your choice.

Well it's not USPS and it would be fine to use them to a lot of countries. PhilPost is the problem and I would never send to the Philippines using USPS because of that reason. LBC as Hank said is very good. I have also used DHL several times and was very happy with the price and service. Whenever I checked on FedEx I found that their rates were just too high but I am sure it is also very reliable.

Fed/Up is reliable in the Philippines ... but I did feel "violated" after paying to ship a document envelope.
