For part 2 on page 3, item 2, what should be my answer to question: are you applying for adjustment based on the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) Section 245 (i)?

My visa is J-1 and I am applying based on marriage to USC.

This thread has an explanation of this question:

Unless you are one of those eligible immigrants present at that time, then put 'No' for this question. I put 'no'. :)

Hi, the number is on the K-1 visa in my passport, and also on the NOA2 received back when we submitted our I-129f petition for my K-1 visa. On that paper, it was handwritten into the form, by the person who approved our petition (I assume). It starts with AA.
I'm afraid I don't have an online copy of the I-485 as I printed and photocopied it instead (I didn't save it on the computer) - are there any particular questions you're stuck on? It took a long time for me to complete it as some of the questions were confusing. I can let you know what I put for certain ones.

Hi, sorry to butt in but I'm having a few issues myself.

1- Did you have any problems filing some parts of the form? Some parts won't allow me to type in the boxes and the I-131 Travel document form won't let me type at all. Do you think it is ok to send the forms with some parts handwritten and other parts typed?

2- Also, what did you put for PART 1 Q.24? "What is your current immigration status (if it has changed since your arrival)?" - my I-94 expired in May, I am only applying for AOS now because I was pregnant and had to wait until after giving birth to get the required vaccination (AND during that time my medical expired 4 days after i gave birth, so I had to also do a completely new medical here).

Thanks in advance

1. A couple of fields in each form didn't work for me - I completed them by hand, in black pen, in capital letters. I think in the instructions it says you can either type or print in black ink, so it should be fine (please correct me if I'm wrong, anyone!).

2. I would have put "K1 Visa Holder" (or perhaps left it blank, as my status hasn't changed since entering). I would think your status is still whichever visa you entered on, and is given as your admission status on the I-94.

Hope that helps!
