My kids have always been terrible car travelers, even on short trips.  That is a lot of traffic!   I haven't experienced any since we lived on the East coast.  About half the time, I'm the only car I see for a good 25+ miles of my trip to the bigger town.  The other half, it is a handful of cars the whole way there.

Ohh I wished. I should have taken pictures of yesterday scenery.... it was an ocean of cars for miles!

I felt so bad for Mini. He was grabbing me like a koala bear when we stopped and wouldn't let go. Impossible to convince a 16-month-old that we need to get in the car because if I don't drive we don't go anywhere...

Tantrums are the part of childhood every parent forgets (just how bad/draining) they are as soon as they grow out of them...

I took stepdaughter and her friend to see the eclipse, get back and spend ages making zucchini noodles (red neck is on a low carb diet), he gets up when I am about to start cooking and does nothing but complain that I'm cooking too late & he has to go to work.

3 things redneck

1: I spent all afternoon with YOUR daughter so she could experience the eclipse

2: How am I supposed to know you have to be at work 3 fecking hours early if you don't mention it until you get up!

3: If it's so late then why wait until it's cooked and put 3/4 in a dish and take it with you? Is ok, we aren't that hungry...

grrrrrrr

Dinner was really good too

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

Man I can't believe I'm done having dinner at 6:30. Tiff's aunt came cooked a delicious Malaysian/ Chinese dinner.

And, why is it that I'm always the first person my friends call when they get a ticket? I don't even mind that much, but they call me when their friends and relatives get a ticket! Now for them, they make the call once in a blue moon. But for me, I get these nuisance calls all day long! Wt-F man!...what do they expect me to do FFS... X#*$@z...

It will be interesting to see how people react to a chubby tattooed big eyed latina in Japan,

considering their beauty standards: fair skinned, very skinny, petite with thin legs.

Although many are obsessed with big boobs and big eyes, both things their girls don't usually have.

oh Japan.

We just phoned Mrs. T-B. to tell her not to drive during the (what passes for) peak hours here, and certainly not to let Mini-B. look outside during that time, protective we man.  One conspicuously missing warning amidst all the "don't look at the sun" admonitions is to workmen and others who might be driving during eclipse time, look out man.

1.  Where again are we going, Niki-B. ma'am?

2.  This happened to us once:  the agent asked us, "Any bags, sir?" and we responded, "Only under our eyes, need zzz man."

Husband no wants to ever spend money.  But is okay with spending $65 on parking because he doesn't want his friend to have to drop us off at 430am.    Thankfully I can fit everything for me in a non-checked bag.  I'm packed minus my toothbrush!! :D  I dunno what he's packing....  It's supposed to rain one day there, but I assume we can be inside that afternoon so no coat will be okay.

I've thought about traveling there before, but I think the Dane and I would stick out like sore thumbs.  He's like the jolly red giant because red is the color he gets with the first sun of spring and any time he's doing anything physical.  He's part lobster.

I just hope it goes alright... It's weird to meet your in-laws like 5 years after you've been married and 6 years after you first met.
