When Mini-B. was just Many (2x2x2+1) months old, we took a Many-(2+1)-&-a-half-hour family drive and were hoping to make it nonstop.  Even at that age, Mini-B. got tired of riding, fed-up wee man.  We stopped at two stores to stroller him around, but it wasn't enough; we finally had to stop overnight.  Almost as soon as we got into the motel room, Mini-B. was far happier, mollified wee man.

Toner mixes with nothing, insidious man.  White shirts typically mix poorly with almost anything, additionally man.

 

This is why, of our approximately Many (2x2x2x2x2x2x2x2)-(2x2x2x2x2)-(2x2) shirts, only Many (2+1) of ours are white, reason man.

We just phoned Mrs. T-B. to tell her not to drive during the (what passes for) peak hours here, and certainly not to let Mini-B. look outside during that time, protective we man.  One conspicuously missing warning amidst all the "don't look at the sun" admonitions is to workmen and others who might be driving during eclipse time, look out man.

Very true. We were fine for as long as the car was moving but all hell broke loose when I ran into stop-and-go traffic.... 95, man....   I can't wait until he can communicate... Where does it hurt, bebe? Here, mama!..... ahhh... pure bliss

 

Just went out to grab my lunch and someone let me borrow their glasses. Pretty cool!

On Saturday, Mr. C needed peace and quiet to take an IT certification exam, so I decided to attend a friend's baby shower who lives 3.5 hours away from us. Mini C has done pretty well on car trips... I was not counting with the remainder beachgoing and eclipse-watching traffic. My 3.5-hour trip doubled and we made it there as the baby shower was ending. Mini C, rightfully so, started to display all kinds of tantrums. I headed back home yesterday and I prayed I didn't run into the same kind of traffic.... I guess I didn't pray enough and had another 7-hour trip. I had to stop twice for Mini-C to stretch his little legs. The second time, I also stopped because he was losing it and crying so hard that he was making himself choke.

We finally made it home and everything in the world was right away.

This morning, he did not want to get in the car to be dropped off at daycare and he was not happy I had to leave him there either ..one tired mama, here. I won't be taking my child into long trips for a while.... 

 

My kids have always been terrible car travelers, even on short trips.  That is a lot of traffic!   I haven't experienced any since we lived on the East coast.  About half the time, I'm the only car I see for a good 25+ miles of my trip to the bigger town.  The other half, it is a handful of cars the whole way there.
