Nope.  I could do without the hour plus a day that I must endure screaming,the temper tantrums, the repeating of words ad nausuam because he isn't getting what he wants, etc.  He doesn't even make up for it by being particularly cute or cuddly.   Happiness today came from him vocalizing a new sentence, "Can I come in?" versus just screaming for 10 minutes.

 

Nevermind the slew of liquids on my floor everyday.

 

I mean this in a loving way as a parent, but the troll is going to owe me one when he gets older for not leaving him out to the wolves.

I can vouch for Alienware duration. I inherited mine from Mr. C and it's even endured desert sand from his deployments.

Little has Viking strength! I think Mini-C may be headed in the same direction your troll is.

 

On Saturday, Mr. C needed peace and quiet to take an IT certification exam, so I decided to attend a friend's baby shower who lives 3.5 hours away from us. Mini C has done pretty well on car trips... I was not counting with the remainder beachgoing and eclipse-watching traffic. My 3.5-hour trip doubled and we made it there as the baby shower was ending. Mini C, rightfully so, started to display all kinds of tantrums. I headed back home yesterday and I prayed I didn't run into the same kind of traffic.... I guess I didn't pray enough and had another 7-hour trip. I had to stop twice for Mini-C to stretch his little legs. The second time, I also stopped because he was losing it and crying so hard that he was making himself choke.

We finally made it home and everything in the world was right away.

This morning, he did not want to get in the car to be dropped off at daycare and he was not happy I had to leave him there either ..one tired mama, here. I won't be taking my child into long trips for a while....

Eclipse watch...

 

Here in Northern NM we're at least 500 miles from the full eclipse zone but theoretically we're supposed to see a partial eclipse. Unfortunately it's totally overcast - very gray and cloudy which isn't that common for a day in August. Looks like it might just get a little darker and that's all we notice. Other than stretching drives from 3.5 to 7 hours, how's things in other parts?

 

By the way, I did catch a total eclipse in Montana back in 1979 so I'm not obsessed about this one. The Colombiana doesn't seem all that impressed either.

I know people are really excited for the eclipse, but I'm just not.

All checked in for our flights.  Im a littl worried about changing planes and terminals.  I hope they dont expect us to get pur bags between since its all the same airline.  There just isnt enough time.  It only worries me since it says which baggage claim to go to which is unusual for just a connecting flight.  

Ya know what I'm being dumb. We're not checking bags on the way there! Whew... I feel better
