Well, this is a fine kettle of fish, egad man.

 

Against our advice, Mrs. T-B. eschews getting re-acupunked in favor of a visit to a traditional orthopedist, she man.

Doc insists that she get a steroid injection in her shoulder, shoot her now man.

Many (2+2) hours later, Mrs. T-B. experiences a Many-out-of-Many pain level, maximal ouch man.

Arm can't be moved and is allegedly the same as when the original injury occurred, back to Square One man.

Mrs. T-B. still at maximal pain level and can't sleep, pesters us she man.

We feed her multiple kill-paining pills of various sorts, Show Our Gringo Love man.

Pills have no effect, none man.

 

We call nurse, call she man.

Nurse pages doc, page he man.

Doc calls us, call he man.

 

Doc says that this is the first that he's ever heard of this reaction to this very commonplace shot, sigh man.

After eliminating other possibilities, he thinks that Mrs. T-B. has a low tolerance for pain, duh and  man.

 

Mrs. T-B. wanted us to stay with her during her sleeplessness, leave us alone & let your pills WORK man.

She then began to yak, yak she man.

Mrs. T-B.:  Yak!  Yak yak yak!  Yak yak YAK yak yak yakyak YAK!  Yakyakyak!  Yak YAK yakyakyakyak YAK!

Our eyes glazed over, shoot us now man.

Mrs. T-B. said, "My arm doesn't work but my mouth isn't affected, and you as my husband must stay and listen."

We fed her a second Tylenol + codeine, or something man.

Mrs. T-B. [with exaggerated melodrama]:  Do you want my last words?

T-B.:  Only if it's "call the rubias," please man.

 

She & Mini-B. are monopolizing our bed, zzz elsewhere we man.

We plan to attend the "meet the teechur" event at Mini-B.'s skool tomorrow, meet teechur we man.

Unclear why said event takes 2 hours, scheduled for same man.

All that's required is "Hi -- we're Papa Mini-B." and "Hi -- I'm Teechur Mini-B.," Many (2x2x2+2) seconds only man.

 

We learned that Mini-B.'s best amigo won't be in his same class this year, split wee from wee man.

We hope that Mini-B.'s self-described "worst nightmare," a pest who can't read, won't be in his class, consolation man.

My mother had this reaction to said shot, except they forewarned her it would be very painful the next day.... something about it getting much worse before it gets better.

 

She's got a high pain tolerance:  the only reason she didn't die from her not very painful infected appendix bursting was that she threatened to have our family sue the surgeon if he didn't operate on her immediately.

Must eat today at some point, I could do with shedding some blubber though, I've gained 30lb since I moved here! 

 

Errands & driving stepdaughter and her her friends to their friends wedding - they are bridesmaids and until yesterday they hadn't all got together and had only the vaguest of plans on who is doing what and no idea how they were getting there 🙄
