Trudi must be working her brains out by now...

Of all the things I've always dreaded from being away from home, the passing of a family member is the one thing that I did not know how I would deal with. Well, I had to. Last Thursday, my 45-year-old brother had a heart attack and died instantly.

Things are so different (funeral wise) here than in ARG, that by Friday afternoon, he was cremated. I don't think any of this will sink in until I go there, which will happen in Dec,  as originally planned. I took a few days off work but I came back early because I don't want things piling up. I'm keeping it together but I have this sadness and anger inside.

I didn't go because the process was so quick for him that even getting an emergency passport wouldn't have allowed me to say goodbye. My parents are surrounded by my massive family, my friends, and my sibling's friends.

Mini-C is so little but his cute little face has helped to put a smile on mine.

I'm so sorry for your loss, it's the hardest thing to go through from a distance ((hug))

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

It occurred to me that today is 10 years since the date of my first marriage.  I've got Love the Way you Lie by Eminem and Rihanna on repeat - seems fitting.

And why, may I ask, are you reminiscing about your former marriage?

Is this a bad thing to do?

Regardless, it wasn't necessarily about my ex-husband but recent events had me thinking about the stupid things and guys I did when I was 20.

I'm glad that the world back then let me grow up.

Hmm...I can't answer that.

But if I were you, I wouldn't tell Dutch.

It's like an ego-factor for a guy.

If only we could go back our youth with the wisdom of age...

Im sure there's things we would all do differently

Not if he's secure in himself and his relationship, we talk about our past relationships and no one gets insecure.

Depends on what it is.  If it is about my ex-husband, he could care less.

If it was about the Swede, then it is best not to mention.  He's kind of butthurt about something related to that.  No reason to be in my opinion, but it seems still to be bothering him as of a conversation last week.  It isn't like I can control that I've been having trouble with my spirituality since I switched from one to the other.

Yeah Dutch people are a little sensitive...

True that.

We wouldn't have dated long or gotten married if we lived in the same country.  We both make good spouses so our marriage works well, but there are some things that would have been deal breakers had we more time in person.
