That sucks.  I remember the one for Lowe's was 10%, but depending we got 7-10% cash back for ordering online through upromise and doing in store pickup and you couldn't use the employee discount online.

I actually think it is likely because their profit margins are tight.

What? I got upromise!

If it wasn't for the weekend work ( and that it'll cost most of my wages to pay for the insurance I have to take if offered) I'd be in no great hurry to move on

I'm looking on it as a way to experience work culture in the US and get myself US work history

I hate drinking coffee out of this yeti cup. The rim is too thick. I can't get a good seal between my lips and the cup. So it spills when the car is in motion. Plus it's a 16oz tumbler, I have about 8 oz of coffee in it. It's too bulky...

Of all the things I've always dreaded from being away from home, the passing of a family member is the one thing that I did not know how I would deal with. Well, I had to. Last Thursday, my 45-year-old brother had a heart attack and died instantly.

Things are so different (funeral wise) here than in ARG, that by Friday afternoon, he was cremated. I don't think any of this will sink in until I go there, which will happen in Dec,  as originally planned. I took a few days off work but I came back early because I don't want things piling up. I'm keeping it together but I have this sadness and anger inside.

I didn't go because the process was so quick for him that even getting an emergency passport wouldn't have allowed me to say goodbye. My parents are surrounded by my massive family, my friends, and my sibling's friends.

Mini-C is so little but his cute little face has helped to put a smile on mine.

What sad news.  :(  I think that can be one of the hardest parts of living away from family.

So sorry Celeste. That definitely is hard.

I know some ppl find it helpful to write a letter. Put it in an envelope then burn it. It might help you get a bit of a good bye.
