That sucks, and you probably tried everything under the sun to sleep too.

I think I've mentioned it in passing. 

I went through periods of insomnia in my life. The best sleep I ever got was in a naval carrier. 

I've learned to deal with it now for the most part. I limit myself on sleeping. Even when I don't have to get up, I'm up by 7 at the latest. Usually I'm up by 6. 

It's been working for the last 15 years or so.

So I went to Tractor Supply today. I didn't spend an arm and a leg but I came home with these girls.

 

 

 

They are about 3 days old here. 

 

I got them because Cream my 6 month old pullet went broody. She's been sitting on fake eggs for about 2 weeks. So now she has some babies. So far she seems to have excepted them and they are all tucked under her wings now. I will check on them in a few hours again to make sure they are ok. Then I'll go out there in the morning and see if all is good. Cream is going to be a good mommy, you should have seen her protect her fake eggs from my much bigger girls. (Cream is smaller then a pigeon)

I'm bemused that redneck & his mom can sleep so late - every day, I've never been able to stay in bed until double digits o'clock, 8 is a huge lie in for me 😂

30 years of shift work, all of it 2 12 hours days, followed right away by 2 12 hours nights then 4 days off, has ruined my sleep pattern. I take forever to fall asleep and wake at the slightest sound, and stay awake. My Husband, on the other hand, falls asleep the instant his head hits the pillow and can sleep right through. Even if he is awakened he can go right back to sleep. I'm perpetually tired.
