Went to bed uncharacteristically early, hoping for at least Many (2+2+2) hours of zzz, man.

However, awoke Many (2x2x2x2x2x2+[2x2x2]) minutes before alarm, up we man.

Coughing like an illegitimate male child the entire time, phlegmatic we man.

No one else awakened by it, miracle man.

Coughing = exhausting, out-wiped we man.

I'm surprised you have a battery in an apartment. Normally they are all wired to keep tenants from taking out the batteries.

Sponges are gross. You can nuke them to sterilize them but why would you want to do that?

The Hillbilly will be gone till late Wednesday early Thursday. He has a training course in Texas.

PS. I swore I hit the reply bottom hours ago

Maybe it is battery backup or the building is older?

I used to abhor sponges until I started cooking a lot.  I just can't get a pot properly clean with a brush.

They are also spectacular for cleaning the stove.

Get with the times. This is the 90s!

Freedom for the Hillbilly!

So when I picked up my car, my buddy leased one too. I drove him to pick it up today.

On the way back from Jersey, I was falling asleep in Staten Island.

Now my new car has some autodrive abilities. But man now I wish I woulda gotten a self-driving car. I'd use my commute time to nap. Of course, they tell you don't do that...

Because if a radon detector goes off, the fix is....move out!

Or you know, don't hang out in your basement.  I am always surprised by the number of people here who willingly put their kids in basement bedrooms when the radon level is high.  They even list their house for sale as something like 3000 sq ft.  No, your house is 1500 safe and livable square feet, don't be playing.

You know, come to think of it...

Did you ever pay attention to the newer combination smoke/CO detectors? They have expiration dates. The sensor element for the CO is only good for 5 years!

My problem is, I have like a dozen  in my house, they get expensive to replace.

I so wish I could put blacked out screenshots of this story, but I can't.  So I'm going to recap with details changed.

It starts like this:  family constantly complains that their kids are having a rough time in the local schools and other kids are picking on them when they get sent out to play alone.  Other trustworthy adults who were there claim B.S.  The stories go on, but always when the parents aren't present to witness it, but of course they blindly believe it and accuse whoever.

Semi-tragic thing happens to family compounded by their own stupid decision to not cover themselves financially in the event of this.

They beg for handouts and they get some, but it quickly turns into not enough.  People aren't giving them enough money and they are giving them things they don't need.  The rants come weekly.  They turn their anger towards the first responders who helped during the tragedy, accusing them of all sorts of things that aren't true.

Now, again, they are accusing people of harassing their children in public areas, but of course, they are still unsupervised despite having at least one parent at home available to do so.  The people they've named and publicly accused aren't the type who would do anything of the sort.

They've decided since everyone hates them so much they should hold a fundraiser that we can all contribute to to have them move.

Yep.  I'll anonymously contribute $5 to that cause.

I use a disk cloth, sponges unless nuked or tossed in a few days are full of bacteria.

Yes I know but the back up batteries shouldn't die too fast. I guess it's possible it's been in there awhile. I'm going to guess they don't change them out twice a year like they should.

Steve stop sleep driving!!

Hillbilly doesn't get freedom he's stuck working. But it sure feels awesome here :P

We have a smoke and CO detectors.

Basements fully finished counting as square footage I think is dependent on the area maybe the State.

I never liked rooms in the basement either.
