We must have slept pretty well during the usual inadequately allotted night hours, zzz OK we man.

 

Gratifying to see all the messages from the satisfied Columbus Day POTS customers, read we man.

 

In response to squawkers who failed to order their POTS in time, we are exhorting them to place their orders NOW for Veterans' Day and Thanksgiving, early birds get wormed man.

Sometimes there isn't a choice. My former elderly flatmate goes to bed on winter nights at 16:30 in the afternoon. There isn't any central heating. Most people use electric heaters, oil or gas heaters, or fireplaces with inserts.  She has essentially no use of her hands. She can't light a fire, or press start on gas heaters. She uses her elbow to press down on the on the button on the electric heater. Of course, electricity costs moonbeams, so she goes without. Her rent has just gone up to 580$ a week, and everything else has gone up as well. You have to choose between eating, and heating, as she says.  It's warmer in bed. I can remember on cold winter nights there reading in bed, I could see my breath inside the house.

 

In summer, she runs a small electric fan. It's on castors, and she pushes it around to whatever room she is in.

We were talking about someone (Mama T-B.) who's well able to afford running her A/C but keeps it set on Ecu temperatures, broil we man.

It's a sad indictment of modern times that this is how so many elderly people live

 

Talking of elderly people MIL is finding new buttons to push, she wants a new car, she thinks we should buy her one - we've said no

Redneck has a short fuse on his temper, especially when he's tired.

MIL has taken to parking her car outside her front door at night & blocking the road to our house.

We think this is a deliberate move to try and get redneck to lose his temper and trash her car (totally possible, he has a very bad temper)

To short circuit this I have told MIL that if she keeps parking there her car will get damaged and it'll be her fault & I got copies of her car key cut so we can both carry one - nothing is going to get her parking in the right place quicker than finding her cars been moved to the bottom of the hill...

Looks like he's settled. I'm still a mess, you would think have 4 more kids at home it wouldn't be so hard.
