II will agree that the high #'s of people who speak English is probably one of the factors

It is definitely a combination of things, because you just don't see that kind of high numbers from other countries that speak English better, like the Scandinavian ones.  I actually went and pulled the numbers for CR1/IR1 and K-visas (which unfortunately does also include K-2s, but that is true across the calculations).  This is the percent of people each year from the countries who received those visas types:

Denmark: 45 (CR/IR-1s), 41(Ks)
Percent: 0.0015%
Sweden: 116, 103
Percentage: 0.0022%

Phillipines: 4589  8341
Percentage: 0.0125%

So, Filipinos are immigrating as the result of marriage at about 9 times the rate of Danes.

Speaking of stereotypes, the Latin stereotype is so ridiculous.  Some Latin American countries share the biggest cultural denominator,  the Macho culture.... but that's about it. Argentina has a different type of Macho culture. Since the ARG women tend to be more independent, men can't  seem to be able to deal with that and develop Peter Pan Syndrome. They run away from commitment as far as their legs let them. There are plenty of exceptions to the rule, but it's really turned into an unfortunate cultural trade.

America has no shortage of the Peter Pans too and I think it goes way deeper than independent women.  There are a certain number of men in my generation and younger who seem to be allergic to hard work or work in general.  I've seen some theories floating around that it is about self-absorbtion and too much concentration on life being easy/happy.

I like our purple mattress.  It had a 90 day no questions asked return policy too.

We could have returned any other size except twin xl, but they consider California King to be a custom order.  I thought it was a fairly popular size, so I'm surprised.  I tried out a bunch of foam-type beds and I just sunk way too much into them.  The one I picked out has coils and then a foam layer on top.

How to entertain the school parking lot..
1) Be me
2) Get there at 2, put your seat as far back as possible and recline
3) Open both front windows to get a breeze
4) Relax
5) Accidentally hit the alarm button when plugging your phone in
6) Press EVERY freaking button on the fob repeatedly to no avail - alarm still screaming
7) Try to open the door only to discover nothing happens when you pull the handle
8) Get part way out of the window when the security guard turns up, leans through the window and turns the key - silence except for the laughing I'm sure I heard...

:jest: My mother once drove home with the alarm of the Benz going off because she didn't know that you had to insert the key in the driver's side door to make it stop.

The Benz panic button can be pressed again to deactivate.

Alarm is turned off by locking and unlocking door.

Read directions on your key fob. Different manufacturers work differently.

I had a fook lady ask me to silence the alarm on her Nissan a couple of months ago.

Speaking of which, the ole Yukon needs front rotors again. Warped from non use...<sigh>

I have maybe 2000 miles on these rotors.

The guys at the marina are calling me up.

"Hey man we're destroying the Stripers!"

Meanwhile, my boat hasn't even been started for months...

Ffs am I gonna get to go fishing this fall?

Oh this was before the days of key fobs.  What I was most surprised about was that no one stopped her on the way home.

In Monterrey, to tattoo for 3 weeks or so.

Although I love what I do, I can't get excited. This immigration process is really wearing me out,

it's been undoubtedly a crazy year for many of us. I'm gradually more worried about moving to the U.S,

and that's coming from someone who was once kidnapped and has been mugged numerous times.

No place feels safe. I just want to be with my husband.

In general, America is safer than Mexico, as I'm sure you know.

It'll either bring you comfort or not, but if it is about shootings and such, you are much more likely to die in a car accident than anything else at your age.

Mrs. T-B. looked hot this morn, stop-trafficking Hot Tamale she man.

We commented to this effect, and she was pleased, pleased Hot Tamale she man.

We then inquired, with hope, whether she was finally making a serious play for the Rojo, hope we man.

Unfortunately, she was merely going to prospect for business clients, sigh we man.

However, to make us feel better, she agreed to mention the availability of pre-owned toilet seats, some consolation man.
