100% true. This applied to my relationship. I was a ship lost at sea until I went to see a therapist for 4 sessions where he explained power dynamics in early marriage situations. Our marriage (first for both) has been getting steadily better since that bout of therapy.

That's some good confidence! For myself, I would say that La Colombiana has no interest in finding a better spouse. Her disdain for men, in general, is astounding to me sometimes. And yet she doesn't apply this general disdain towards me.

I've been following along on the stereotypes discussion. Good stuff. I don't really have a lot to add other than to say that even if a stereotype is true in general, it doesn't really help in dealing with one person, specifically. The huge immigration #'s from the Philippines is an interesting phenomenon. No single reason put forth really explains it to me. Seems logically to be a combination of factors, although I will agree that the high #'s of people who speak English is probably one of the factors. Internet dating and the decrease in cost to fly to the country over the last few decades are probably two other factors.

Add the culture of marrying men FAR older than they, decades-gaping gaps man.

Had Mrs. T-B., pre- or post-marriage, suggested or attempted regular sendings of our/our monies to her family, her shapely hindquarters would have been on the first one-way conveyance back to Ecu, bye she man.

Speaking of which, we got Mini-B. a Ninjago Bot to construct, Many00 Lego pieces man.

Suggested age-range is Many to Many (2x2x2 to 2x2x2x2-2) years, older man.

With scattered frustrations, Mini-B. is swiftly constructing said Bot, amazing aptitude wee man.

Sometimes, he's not even needing to consult the stepwise pictures, no man.

He reminds us of Papa T-B., departed senior he man.

He could take random pieces of an object (one that he'd never seen) and soon construct it into working order, capable he man.

Papa T-B. also solved Rubik's Cube within 2 minutes after he first picked it up, amazing man.

 

The first time Mama T-B. showed Papa T-B.'s picture to Mini-B. (Papa T-B.'s namesake), Mini-B. exclaimed, "That was me before I got little!"

I suppose C had this fear until he met my family. He quickly realized that he did not have to worry about that.
