I didn't know!  love the combination though, I've seen half Filipino people and they just look so gorgeous to me. A bit similar to Latin-American people I believe. Haha, a different type of white. Yes, we do tend to have more of a yellow than pink undertone for sure.

My ex-husband was the half Filipino/Jewish one and he was kind of racially nondescript.  I think part of that was the much lighter complexion than his sister. I honestly had no idea he was even mixed race for a really long time because there are Jewish people who have that kind of coloring.

We can also be a different person with our spouses than with others.  For instance at work I have a dominant personality.  I take charge, I decide on paths to take, and can make good decisions based on good reasoning.  I pay attention with others have ideas and try to make sure I'm not over stepping my bounds while making sure my superiors know I can do more than just my job.  I'm a "go-getter" you would say.

But at home, I let hubs take the lead. We have a pretty traditional relationship and as much as he says he wants me to take charge, he really doesn't.  I look after our home, he brings home the bacon.  Granted I do more fixing, more work on the house, and have zero issues changing oil or working on vehicles.

So he thinks I'm more of a follower, that I make only emotional decisions (I make plenty of logical ones at home he chooses to ignore), but he sees potential for more. The more is already there, but two people in charge in this house just wouldn't work out well.

Our relationships is probably way on the extreme end, but that's more of a personal preference.  I kind of had to de-program the Dane.  It definitely isn't something that is done in Denmark at all.  Even having a housewife makes people think that you might be some sort of abusive neanderthal.

I actually happen to think for my own sake that being submissive is a personality flaw of sorts.  It is amusing that it is something that so many seem to be seeking out in a foreign spouse.    Mine doesn't end at home, it is really something directed at men I respect.  There is another level of it that is more selective, but that is the one that leads more to trouble.  Depending on the context, it is unfortunately a form of inadvertent flirting.  I think a lot of the issues in the effects forum are related to this - it is a complete misunderstanding of how power dynamics work in relationships.  One can't expect a relationship to work if both parties aren't worthy of respect.

apediarrhea!

Sometimes but not necessarily, D2 ma'am.  It might be normal production, for all we know, si ma'am.

A guy walks into a bar with his pet monkey. He orders a drink, and, while he's drinking, the monkey jumps all around the place.  The monkey grabs some olives off the bar and eats them, then grabs some sliced limes and eats them, then jumps onto the pool table, grabs one of the billiard balls, sticks it in his mouth, and to everyone's amazement, somehow swallows it whole.  The bartender screams at the guy, "Did you see what your monkey just did?"
The guy says, "No -- what?"
"He just ate the cue ball off my pool table!"
"Yeah, that doesn't surprise me," replies the guy. "He eats everything in sight.  Sorry.  I'll pay for the cue ball and the rest of the stuff."
The customer finishes his drink, pays his bill, pays for everything the monkey ate, then leaves.
Two weeks later, he's in the bar again and has his monkey with him.  He orders a drink, and the monkey starts running around the bar again.  While the man is finishing his drink, the monkey finds a maraschino cherry on the bar.  He grabs it, sticks it up his butt, pulls it out, and eats it.
The bartender is disgusted. "My God!  Did you see what your monkey did just now?" he asks.
"No -- what?" replies the guy.
"Well," says the bartender.  "He stuck a maraschino cherry up his butt, pulled it out, and ate it!"
"Yeah?  Well, that doesn't surprise me one bit," replies the guy.  "Ever since that cue-ball incident, he measures everything first."

What a Sunday, egad man.

First, Mini-B. awakens us from our Heap Strong Medicine-induced stupor to ask us esoteric questions, curious wee man.

Then, Mrs. T-B. disappears with Mini-B. without telling us where or for how long, bye she & wee man.

She had not left her approved laundry for us to attack, either, stymied we man.

We then learn that the Big Lots Many%-off sale is Sunday, sneaked up on us man.

Mrs. T-B. finally returns and graces us with her laundry, fortunately a single load man.

She goes to Big Lots to buy a fancy throw-carpet that costs in the Manyple digits even after discount, lavish she man.

We finally get to go to Big Lots, spending $Many ($2x2x2x2x2x2+2+2+2) after discount man.

Chief among the purchases was Many (2x2x2x2) bottles of G2, decent flavor man.

After we return and wrangle laundry, Mrs. T-B. decides that Mini-B. should have a new mattress, decide she man.

We go back to Big Lots, compliant we man.

We call Mrs. T-B. with mattress prices, report we man.

Mrs. T-B. says, "Well, maybe we don't need one right now after all," :bonk: man.

We solace ourselves with Many (2x2x2x2) more bottles of G2, stock up while on sale man.

Then, we must go back out to gas the Mrs.-T-B.-mobile, do weekly man.

We couldn't take it to Big Lots because trunk was full and couldn't hold a mattress, :bonk: man.

You know you can bargain mattresses by like 50% right? Except a few companies like tempurpedic...

The mark up is like 125%

And, mattress pic now...

It was at a furniture store that doesn't negotiate on prices.  The price seems fair for what I got.  On the other hand, the bed frame that I got from wayfair seems a little overpriced, but I spent all day look at frames in person, finally to settle on just one I liked and then I found out that their California King bed frames are just as wide as the King ones.  That just won't do.

There are actually a few car dealerships here like that too.  Minnesotans don't like to haggle.

I like our purple mattress.  It had a 90 day no questions asked return policy too.

My friends in Vegas are okay.  But my heart is sad for everyone else.

My friend here was being too nice and was kidnapped in her own car for 2 hours.  She even called 911 and no police men to be found.  #######!

Ok, I really need to know if there are actual couples out there who like to read to each other.  I saw multiple people mention this as a pleasant activity in a FB group I'm in and I just saw it as an anniversary activity you could do.

Personally, I can't really think of anything worse.  One of my least favorite parts of primary and secondary school was listening to other people read aloud.  It is like nails on a chalkboard.

That could be used in our household as an innovative torture method...

In the early years (pre-Mini-B.), we & Mrs. T-B. would read to each other, functional reasons man.

Mrs. T-B. wanted to practice her English, she man.

We coached her and enabled her to hear us reading English, we man.

She would read a line and glance over to us for approval, validate she man.

It was rather cute, si man.

And she actually did quite well, and reading out of some of our difficult magazines, read she man.

All her amigas were jealous because she was married to a gringo who could help her with such stuff, convenient for she man.

Now, it has been Many (and, if we make it through next month, Many) years of marriage, call the rubias & Rojo respectively man.

That is actually great practice when learning a different language.

There are 1680 pages in the Philippines immigration section, while only 280 or so in the whole Latin-American section :o that's around 100 mil vs  600,000+ million people. And I keep hearing about a lot of people marrying women from there. How does marrying someone from a specific region, like the Philippines becomes popular? Just curiosity, I really don't know much about the country.

It's interesting that I have not encountered a lot of Mexican filers even in Spanish-speaking forums, but a lot from other places in South America. Also, I know Mexico is considered high-fraud, but after reading the Ghana section I don't feel quite as bad anymore.

I haven't had breakfast and there's no coffee in the apartment so that might account for current sleepiness and grumpiness.

IMHO, the Philippines is one of the most stereotyped countries, when it comes to immigration. Unfortunately, some of the stories don't help change the stereotype.. it rather exacerbates it. Ghana, on the other hand, is known to be high in fraud. So much so that there's even a warning on the Embassy's website...

Speaking of stereotypes, the Latin stereotype is so ridiculous.  Some Latin American countries share the biggest cultural denominator,  the Macho culture.... but that's about it. Argentina has a different type of Macho culture. Since the ARG women tend to be more independent, men can't  seem to be able to deal with that and develop Peter Pan Syndrome. They run away from commitment as far as their legs let them. There are plenty of exceptions to the rule, but it's really turned into an unfortunate cultural trade.

Personally, I'm not submissive but I pick my battles with C. I take a step back on certain things I know are more important for him to decide on and only interfere if something is just crazy or plain stupid.  I'm more patient and do not let my Italian blood boil (I inherited this one and it's hard to control sometimes). C was a breath of fresh air in my life. He is younger and with a mature mentality (most of the time). I'm sure I have my moments he could do without, but we really balance each other out.

Completely unrelated .... the news about Vegas this morning are just heartbreaking. :(
