Reminds me of a recent news story out of Fargo - the police were called to reports of a sheep being slaughtered in an apartment building parking lot by a Muslim family.  That is, apparently not a crime, although I would suspect for health reasons it should be illegal to do it within city limits unless it was an abattoir.

They do that here too. Causes a big uproar.

I don't have a problem with religious animal sacrifice, but I think it has to be done respectfully of the cultures around you and mindful of the modern world.  Good places to ritualistically slaughter: in a house of worship, in a slaughterhouse, or in a field out in the country somewhere.  Bad places: crowded city streets, outside other people's homes, etc.

We place no bathroomitarian restrictions on orderers, to each his own man.

I have a problem with them and it is 100% cultural.  I saw that they were protesting in Israel last week over maybe having to get drafted into the IDF just like everyone else.  No, they'd rather sit around and read all day, letting their wives work to feed their 8 kids, and letting other people's kids fight to defend their country.
