I think I've before ranted about the previous incompetent homeowners of our current house.

 

Tonight, I'm going to rant about them again.  They re-sided the house in vinyl and got brand new windows for the house.  Of course the siding job wasn't great and the windows sit weird.  That is not the irritating part, however, it is that they didn't side the garage at the same time and just left it peeling paint.  It is the size of a shed, how much effort would that have taken?  Furthermore, they didn't replace the basement windows, which don't have hinges and several of which blew out in strong winds the first year we lived here.  The outer storm window glass on one broke, but no, the glass of the windows was in tact, but the whole casement fell out, glass included.  

 

Now as we are working on the basement at the moment, I irritated at having to replace them with custom size windows.  I don't even think they are all the same size.

When D2 ma'am wrote yesterday, she had a Many- (2x2x2x2-2)-hour flight, fly she man.

Mexico City shut down its airport at one point after the quake, shut down man.

If anyone can coordinate the two times, we might guess whether she made it or had to be diverted, deduce man.

I think it must be a matter of not caring about the garage and thinking that one day you'll replace it.  Our neighbor had his house resided this summer - it is a huge improvement.  What did he not re-side that is directly across from my living room window?  His garage of the same era, same size, peeling paint.  Oh and he perpetually leaves it open with all sorts of mess inside.  

 

I think what they did was buy standard size vinyl windows for the house and boy does our house have a lot of windows.  They then changed the framing to accommodate the new size.  I don't know if they did just the trim (which was horrendous) or the windows too themselves.

 

One upside to standard size windows is that for the single hung ones, I could buy cordless blinds right at the store without the need to custom order.

Under the count your blessings umbrella, my own older sister just kicked her ovarian cancer into remission after 6 months of chemo. It was big news last weekend and we were all really happy about it. That statistics on ovarian cancer aren't good so we are extra happy at this point and hope it stays in remission for many years if not forever. I like how my brother puts it in a macabre way... "what we really hope for is that she dies from something unrelated to cancer."

Definitely happy news!

Mrs. T-B. got Verizon tonight for $Many ($2x2x2x2x2+[2x2x2])/mo., she man.

No senior plans; would be same $Many for us, per she and grrr man.

Furthermore, they let her pick the area code & first Many (2+1) digits, but not the rest, grrr man.

T.. Doesn't the Mrs.use a VoIP APP like WhatsApp? Granted, her people in ECU would have to have data plans and such. I don't think I have made an actual phone call to Argentina in the last 5 years. I use WhatsApp and can talk with anyone and everyone. Send messages and audio bits.

Thanks, Celeste and C. It was just a moderate quake at 5.8, and right at the bottom of the South Island. Nobody I know would have even been aware of it. It doesn't seem too bad, compared to the Mexico one, which is immense
