How are the drivers & companies typically punished, huh man?

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I would never be a blonde. Have been and it doesnt suit me.

Or me. I've got three blond haired blue eyed sisters. I refer to them as the Southern Belles. Well, Southern Ontario any rate.  The youngest of them still there following Irma, and likely now to stay there until well post Marie.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Terrible accident. Given the state of the vehicles, and the damage to the buildings and all, one of them must have been going at speed.

I am off this afternoon, to sit at the SSA office in an attempt to update them now that I'm no longer a legal resident alien. Taking a book, perhaps I ought to take a cut lunch as well.

Successfully managed to get the MIL to pay her taxes. We have to pay personal property tax here every year on our car (seriously). I got the paperwork in the post yesterday to register it again for the year, but of course, if you haven't paid the taxes, you can't do it.  They send one property tax notice to everyone at the same address, so I don't get the notice, she does.

Which led me to wonder. Her car tag expires at the end of the month. She swears up and down she didn't get the renewal notice, but she did. I bring in the mail, and I thought at the time it would be for us, but it was addressed to her. Either she has binned it, or misfiled it, so she will have to go to the DMV and sort it out. So far, over the last three days, we have had the same discussion 23 times. Unusually she says 'but I always do that online', followed by an explanation that she needs the code off the letter to do that, and she doesn't have it.  I am having a hard time making her understand that paying the taxes does not update the registration. Separate entity.

Today is her 87th birthday. Cake for tea.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

He was flying. There's a clip floating around...

Looks like he ran a light too.

He was doing 60 in a 25. Looks like he was sleeping behind the wheel.

If you study the clip, the Fooks brake lights doesn't come on until after the collision.

He was on the left turn only lane. Then he ran the red, swerved right, nailed the city bus.

Just awful :(

Store manager has offered me anything I want (except a raise) if I'll stay, hours of my choosing and any department I want

Trouble is I'm not convinced he can follow through.

Everything crossed for a smooth and stress free journey

I'm telling ya...

There's a China conspiracy to take over toys R us, and retailing in America.

Because they're no longer that profitable in manufacturing.

And, lacking their own brand power, they have no choice.

The Japanese tried the same thing, resulting in their "lost decade"
