Off to the county fair this afternoon. Not by choice. Every year the Trust my MIL has set up donates a prize to the youngest boy and girl showing...cattle. She can't possibly go this year, she still has a bit of a bruise on her face after her fall a couple of weeks ago, and can't possibly be seen in public. So just before bed last night she arrives with the parking pass. Would I please design and print a couple of certificates? Would I stop by the shop in the morning and get a couple of gift cards?  The Husband wouldn't mind presenting them. (Not actually framed as a question).

 

So this afternoon I have to drive Cowboy Joe to the fair. Complete with boots, hat, fancy bolo tie. I'll be the one walking well behind. Well. I've never met that man in my life. No idea who he is. :jest:

I just realized the downside of living with an employed nurse. Today I have the sniffles and a bad cough. Something she was dealing with 3 days ago.

 

Oh, and another bummer is that even though the Colombiana would be a good candidate to be a hospital interpreter (completed medical terminology classes in english and spanish) for those patients who speak Spanish only , thus earning a premium for her shifts, it turns out that the hospital is buying portable computer translators for this function. Nice human touch, right there.
