My sister. Man. Tough comms out of Grand Turk. Had no idea what the house is like, or what state it's in. So, I go off and in less than five minutes find her a link to At&T free phone calls to the place once phones are up and running, and photos of the Island. And her house.  She like all ooh and aah, must think I used smoke and mirrors. She doesn't 'get' the internet.

 

Not too bad, considering a Cat 5 went right by them. I really expected worse.

The place went nuts. Happens every time! Like when I went to Malaysia and HK, remember?

And I called after 10 days, they were like, everything is fine...

Mini-B. returned to skool today for first time since the himmicane, re-educated wee man.

Returned in great mood, jovial wee man.

 

Cat found favorite toy (fuzzy ball much like mini-pompon) and is gazing expectantly at us, hopeful miu man.

 

And why are the gas stations and even the supermarkets not back to normal yet, get with the program man?

For the second time this week, Mini-B. refused to wear a shirt that we had bought for him, obstinate wee man.

Tell him he's going to wear it whether he likes it or not?

 

Is there something wrong with it, like it is too stiff/scratchy or not comfortable?  There are a few types of shirts I've learned not to get for my older one.  She prefers knits to wovens because she can move better in them.

Kiddo was always very picky about clothes.  So receipts were always kept and time spent at the store yo make sure clothes were acceptable before purchase.  Was always a feel issue too due to sensitive skin.

I need a siesta, please! Mini-C is currently siest-ing, according to the daycare report.

 

Immigrant female rant - Relocating to a new country and having to get a new OBGYN, hair stylist and waxer is a b*tch!

 

- I had been opening my legs to my OBGYN at home for more than 10 years!! I found a good one here, but... I hated having to look for one.

- Hair stylist... I still can't find a  decent one that will not charge me +$100 for a haircut simply because they have more than 3 years of experience (thank you, DC!)

- Waxer... another person I need to show my parts too and I need to hope they know what they are doing!

Not so much immigrant issue, but a woman issue, I'm afraid.  Even when you've found a good one...sometimes they start to get lazy or do things you don't like.  At near $300 for the cut, color, and highlights, it better be right.

 

And this is why I stopped going 5 years ago and do my hair at home.
