Our area is a little more Norwegian/Swedish/Polish with some German mixed in....

 

The Danes never had the issues that the Norwegians had with arable farmland, so they never mass-migrated to America.  At one point, I think it was 1/3 of the population of Norway had made it over.

 

There are a couple of older pockets in Iowa and I think Wisconsin and some newer ones in the typical places - big West Coast cities, NYC, etc.

I wonder if T-Bone is helping out with the evacuees, supposedly they are in need of dry clothes, diapers, and stuff...

-- He said, without details, that evacuations would be mandated & suggested, great man.

 

Consequently, this morn, people awaken to mandatory evac orders, surprise man.

They are for two "levee improvement districts" (LIDs), murky entities man.

No one knows exactly which they live in, murky entities man.

Furthermore, no one knows which city/county streets are clear, oj nie.

No shelter locations are announced until one is full & the other can no longer be reached,  man.

No one knows what time the levees will be released, oj nie.

Everyone is screaming on social media, scream man.

 

Knowledgeable neighbor says that our 'hood should be safe, but might be an island for 2 days, Robinson Crusoe man.

However, rental casa in mandatory-evac zone might get flooded or sewer backup, how wet we are man.

 

Mama T-B. was informed by a neighbor that she was in an evac zone, evac senior she man.

Naturally, she "freaked up" (as Mrs. T-B. would say, prepositionally impaired she man).

We had trouble determining which streets were clear, see above man.

Mama T-B. finally arrived in the Mama-T-B.-mobile, high-clearance man.

Fortunately, she brought provisions, milk/ice cream/junk food man.

She can now nag us at 'round-the-clock leisure, sigh we man.

 

And Mini-B. just fell down the stairs, scared wee man.

Ooooh my book just on Fermat's Last Theorem came today.  Well, it isn't entirely on that, it also covers some other Number Theory stuff.  Between this and the one on Ptolemy's astronomical calculations that came last week, I'm in heaven.
