Hi folks

I'm currently adjusting status from K-1 visa, been called in for an interview in a couple of weeks through a 'G-56 call-in notice'. Finally got more detail in the mail and it says my I-693 has expired (even though I never filled it in and my medical was on Sep-1-2016), looks like they're asking me to refill the I-864 as well.

So my question is - I thought we don't have to fill in the I-693 if we have the medical forms from our medical check back in our home country or do I have that wrong? I sent in the form that has all of the vaccinations listed and have that famous box checked by the doctor as well (to certify I've passed all the checks)

Any thoughts?

Thanks

If you file for AOS from K-1 within one year of the K-1 medical and the DS-3025 is marked 'complete', per USCIS instructions, you can submit that with your AOS package. However, sometimes your AOS case worker would still want your DS-3025 transcribed to a I-693 even if your K-1 medical is still valid.

If your DS-3025 is not marked complete, meaning to say you have missing or pending vaccinations, then you'll have to see a CS in the US to get the shots done and have the CS transcribe everything to the I-693 for your submission with the AOS package

If you file your AOS from K-1 past the one year mark of the K-1 medical, you'd have to see a CS in the US to get a new medical done from scratch and the CS would complete the I-693.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Or you could show up at the interview and see exactly what the officer needs in the way of medical, then go do it. Sometimes the letters are cryptic or of a generic nature and not written specifically to you about your case.

I know your vaccination sheet is not checked "complete" because Knightsbridge clinic follows the instruction to not mark that on non-Immigrant visas. But do you have all the correct shots noted on the sheet?

Thanks both - wuozopo my DS-3025 is ticked complete, maybe the process has changed recently?

I just spoke to a tier two officer and she confirmed that I shouldn't need the I-693 and advised to attend the interview and talk it through with the officer there - like you said, if there is indeed an issue then they'll give me time to get it sorted out. The whole thing has a ring of an admin #######-up (they sent two different packages to different addresses, one is a call-in notice the other is the standard notice of action, it says the I-693 which I never completed is expired despite me getting the medical less than a year ago, they included a blank I-864 with no comment...)

I'm going to fill in the new I-864 just to be on the safe side, pack my folder full of evidence and cross my fingers :)

Thanks for the advice and I'll post an update after the interview!

Wow amazing. They quit when the form changed and people have been begging, pleading, stomping their feet to get them to tick the box in "Results".  The best they would do is write on page two that vaccinations are complete in the comments.  Makes it much simpler for you.

Just to close this one off...went to the interview on Monday and both my I-864 and I-693 were received no problem and fully signed off even before the interview, so seems like it was the usual USCIS gremlins in the system!
