Hey everyone,

I'm currently trying to understand the process to get married to my fiance in Colombia.  I've researched as much as I can and everything is either too old or out of date and doesn't get to the point.

she has a daughter too so where do I go or what do I do for K2?

I've already filled out a I 129 f

I guess now you don't need the g-325a. anymore

I saw a G-1145 was required but I don't know if they still need that too

I don't even know how to start a K2  it's like the internet doesn't talk about it

does that get filed with the I 129f?  " under does beneficenary have children."

I have an  I-134 form didn't know if that has something to do with it.

Also  I'm in California so what service centers do I send this all when it is complete?

I never have done forums before but I hope someone can help me out navigating and if any one has had previous experience  from colombia and a K2

could you guys please PLEASE show me

I would be super grateful

Thanks so much

I've no idea about K-2 but I can help clarify the other stuff:

G-325A - no longer needed as it's been incorporated into the I-129F itself

G-1145 - not required but good to send one with your petition so you'll get a text and e-mail notification when USCIS received your I-129F

I-134 - only needed at the K-1 and K-2 interview stage at the embassy

Filing address - you either mail the I-129F to Dallas lockbox or Lewisville for signature required mail services and these facilities will for your petition to California Service Center for adjudication AND you don't send anything directly to California at the point of initial filing

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Great!

thank you  for the response

I hope you could expand more on the last two   help me understand better,

for the I-134   is the K1 interview stage something I need to wait for to send or does that need to be sent in the beginning  with  the I 129 f     package?

Also wanted to know you said lockbox or Lewisville is there a difference between which one you send it too?    And you mentioned signature requirement, does that mean because it has to be signed paperwork ?

sorry i'm just trying to understand better

Thank you

I-134 - You don't need to send it with the I-129F. You only send it to your fiancée after NOA2 when she's preparing for the K-1 and K-2 interview at her local embassy.

Filing address - It depends on the shipping service that you choose. If you send with regular USPS mail which does not need to be signed receipt by USCIS facility, you use Dallas address. If you use something like FedEx, UPS, DHL or USPS Express Mail that require a human signature when they receive your petition package, you use Lewisville address. Regardless of filing address used, the facilities will forward the petition to CSC.

The K-2 you only list on the I-129F thats all you have to do for now.

Then after NOA2 the child will also need it's own medical, DS-160 and fees for that.

You only do one I-134 for both of them but that is not needed until the interview.

You might want the mom to work on getting a written statement from the bio-father that he gives permission

for the child to immigrate to the US.

Here is the K-2 forum.

I know it says AOS but yo can ask anything in there through all the process :)

Also be aware that after they arrive the child also need it's own AOS so the fee for you AOS will be a lot.
