so my fiance sent the required documents for packet 3 by email to the montreal embassy last night. i check the status on the ceac website this morning and it says this:

IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
Ready
Immigrant Visa Case Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Case Created: 30-May-2017
Case Last Updated: 19-Jun-2017

Your case is ready for you to schedule an interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal. If you have already scheduled an interview appointment, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the Consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:http://nvc.state.gov/interview

so appartently it was "ready" before we even recieved packet 3. ive read some mixed advice on here. some people saying as long as you have a case number you can schedule an interview. others are saying wait for packet 4. im confused on what to do now.  when i go the the website to schedule it says this:

Warning: K Visa applicants will be required to pay a nonrefundable Visa application fee. If you do not know which service you require, do not continue. Verify the visa classification written on your appointment letter.

we do not have an appointment letter.  so im guessing we cant schedule now? also some people say to schedule medical first. how an where would i do that?

thanks!

You definitely need to wait for packet 4!  I think it will sometimes allow you to schedule beforehand but better to just wait for packet 4.  Mine came within 24 hours.  You need packet 4 for the medical and possibly the interview (I can't remember 100% and I haven't had my interview yet).

Also, did he actually get packet 3 in the mail yet??  I looked at your timeline and you got your NOA2 after me but got everything else way faster it seems!!
