We are applying for AOS while Im on the VWP. We needed my wife's parents as joint sponsor because my wife just started working recently and she doesnt make enough money to support me. Her dad, the one with the largest income, is filing a I-864 form as joint sponsor, and her wife, since they do taxes together, is filing a I-864a to add her income to his.

In the form I-864, page 2 of 8, it asks whats the relationship between the household member and the sponsor, and in the page 4 of 8, it asks for the sponsor signature.

Who is supossed to sign as sponsor?

My wife, the U.S citizen and first sponsor (I-864) ?
Or her dad, the second I-864 as joint sponsor since he does taxes together with her mom (her mom is filing the I-864a )

And regarding the relationship between household member and sponsor, is this question asking about the first sponsor (my wife) or the second sponsor ( her joint-sponsor dad, who also file for taxes with her mom)

My wife: first I-864

Her dad: second I-864(joint sponsor)

Her mom: I-864a (she files taxes together with my wife's dad)

You will fill out 2 complete i864 forms and send with your paperwork, and each person will sign their own i864 and list how they are related to you, so your wife signs her own and your dad in law signs his own.
