It has been working for some people, but not everyone. Really the only other way to know is if you call the CSC and ask and they might tell you your case status. Otherwise you'll find a nice letter in your mailbox hopefully soon.

If you are going through the visa process and will be interviewing in Casablanca, Morocco, join us over at the

US-Morocco Visa Discussion Facebook Group! :)

Sometimes the website can be slow to make updates, and sometimes it can seem to be "stuck" on an update (showing the same update for a long time).

Don't worry, you will always get the paper letters in the mail no matter if the website is updated or not. :)

Thank you guys!

There are so slow right now and I don't understand why people that receive NOA1 after me are accepted if they check the petitions in order. I'm super sad about this situation because I can't handle it.

USCIS case tracker hasn't been working properly for a few months now. I already received my NOA2 yet the tracker still says "case was received". However, it's been noted by various members on here that the case tracker updated fine for those who were gonna receive a RFE.

Background checks can hold up an approval. The adjudicator who has your case file may be slow or on vacation. They may be reviewing things that may or may not require an issuance of RFE. Many factors can delay one's approval. On a lighter note, you're still within processing times. When USCIS started sending out NOA2 to March filers, they were still February filers who didn't get their NOA2. This is expected albeit kinda disheartening and discouraging.

It will come. Have you signed up for USPS Informed Delivery? Informed Delivery will send a scan of letter sized mails to your e-mail on a daily basis to tell you what mails will be arriving for the day. With that, you'll easily find out when a USCIS envelope will be in the mailbox.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

Every case is unique. It could be that your evidence you provided is complicated... maybe divorce decrees, criminal record, something missing, or maybe nothing wrong at all! Maybe it was the case right before yours that is holding them up and taking a long time. Maybe the person doing your case had a large influx of paperwork. It can be many factors that slow it down for some people.

You have a VERY LONG WAY TO GO yet, and many of the steps ahead require lots of waiting with no websites to tell you when anything is ready. So I hope you can find the patience, because you'll definitely need it. Don't be sad about something that will take a very short amount of time compared to the rest of your life with your spouse.

As to the original topic.... I never had an update to the USCIS website. I received NOA2 in the mail and the site still said "under review".

This is government at its best. Every case is different so I recommend not basing your opinion on what is happening to others. Furthermore, this is a long process with many steps and sometimes mis-steps. If you are getting frustrated over what hasn't happened and you are only on the first step, your going to find this process to test your wits and patience.  I suggest that you take a deep breath and go with the flow. To get excited would be when something is out of the normal processing time. Your case is not in that condition. Just my 2 cents.

You beat me to it (again) Greenbaum! OP, please listen to the advice above. This process can drive you NUTS if you let it. There were plenty of times when Joan and I absolutely felt something was wrong--there wasn't. It was just the stack of applications waiting to be serviced before ours landed on a desk. Yours will come. Good luck.

There are no taxpayer dollars that go towards USCIS.

They are pretty much entirely fee-funded.  Basically, we applicants pay for everything out of our filing fees.

I wish they were tax-funded....our fees would be a whole lot cheaper, then, most likely...

I wish they were tax-funded....our fees would be a whole lot cheaper, then, most likely...

But the wait time would be tripled... the work would be incorrect.... and only a dozen people would get visas.

Did some quick math on the 11,000,000 immigrant + non-immigrant visas they issued just last year, even at an average fee number, the 19,000 employees who work there are making a decent living on us. They don't need tax dollars.

I didn't say "fully funded by fees"... I said "pretty much entirely fee-funded".

I've read in some articles that it's something like only 10% tax funded...which sucks.

This article was interesting, albeit a bit sad... http://swampland.time.com/2013/07/09/explainer-why-it-costs-immigrants-680-to-apply-for-naturalization/
