Hi, my fiancé and I met in Tokyo Japan in 2016. He's been based there since 2014 on a 3 year contract and leaves and has employment ready for his return. He has submitted all his taxes on his incomes for the past three years etc but will this not be accepted as it's based on foreign income . If so what can we do to help it . We are still waiting for the no2 so we are way off needing the info. And he should be back in august to work in California. If it helps he was employed by an American company in Tokyo disneyland lol. Any help is much appreciated .

Is the company transferring him back to the US? Does he have a job waiting in the US? If he does, he can get a letter of employment and by the time you have the interview he will have at least one pay stub too.

Otherwise, you have to find a financial cosponsor.

Yeah he has a job waiting over for him in the states which he beings in August / September . The company are relocating him back to America as it was just a temp contract etc but it's a under a different company I think in America .

I've seen people on VJ that had just started a job and with a letter of employment and one pay stub, it was enough for the financial form.

Make sure that the company includes information about the fact that working in Japan was part of the same job and that now your fiance will be working in the US indefinitely. They should also include the income.

Did your fiance file US taxes? Any US citizen living abroad has to file takes with the IRS. If that was not done, it will have to be fixed. A lot of people get into trouble because of that.

Yeah he filled all his taxes . I think his new job is a different status than his old one in Japan. He was earning around 90-100k a year in Japan and has most of it saved if that helps. His new salary will be around 85k I think . So by the time it comes my interview he should have 3 pay stubs or maybe 4 as we have been told it will be around December . As we didn't file until may 2017.

London will not even require a tax return at your interview. Have him fill out the I-134 after he has his US job because they want to know current income, not last years on a job he no longer has. Get an employer letter. That will work for your fiancé interview in London. Many have been approved on only the letter.

When you adjust status after marriage, a tax return is a requirement on that affidavit of support,  but it does not mean the tax return is the only thing they will consider. He has a new job and will submit an employer letter and six months pay stubs for that affidavit of support along with his latest tax return.

Awesome :-) but I'll make sure he grabs a letter and his pay stubs . So the form for income is the job he has at the time right ? So he will enter his new salary and stuff ? All this is new to me and scary :-)

Yes. There is a place to list current employer and current income, which should match up with what the new employer letter says is his income.

"I am currently employed as a _________"

Then employer info.

Then something like "My yearly income is _________"

That's about now (or when he does the form later in his case), not my last year's income was ______.

Up in the menu, there is a menu for reviews of various offices. You can find Paris and read how people will describe their interview. Make sure it is K1 visa people because spouse visas would have different requirements, like for sure tax returns. Some will probably say "I turned in  blah, blah, blah" and you may get a sense of what K1s tend to turn in for Paris. Read a lot of them because some people get very detailed and those will help you know what to expect. For example London never wants to see proof of relationship or photos,  but when you read Paris reviews you will figure out what Paris expects of you. You will begin to see a pattern if you read enough detailed ones.
