Hi everyone,

I just want to verify something real quick as I am wondering whether I'm understanding the field office processing times correctly:

This is my timeline for AOS:

Receive date: 02/27

RFIE receive date: 04/03

Status changed to interview ready to be scheduled: 04/11

Now my field office (San DIego) processing times show the following:

Field Office Processing Dates for San Diego CA as of: May 31, 2017
Form Form Name Processing Cases As Of Date:
I-485 Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status 6. October 2016
N-400 Application for Naturalization 10. October 2016
N-600 Application for Certification of Citizenship 3. December 2016

So which of my dates do I take as a case date? I assume the RFIE receive date right?!

I'm trying to find this out because if I take the actual receive date my interview likely would get scheduled around October, exactly the month I would like to book a flight to go back home for two weeks. If I take the RFIE receive date of the day my status changed to ready then I am fine and can go on vacation without being worried that my greencard interview might get scheduled during that time.

Those are just estimates anyway and you can still receive an interview letter next week and have your interview in August despite what it says about their processing times. So you can never be sure, there are no guarantees that you will have your interview in October, or any other month for that matter. Impossible to say. Your interview might even get waived.

We have people in the December thread who had their interview in March and I only got my interview in July. Same received dates, same city, exactly the same field office, and yet many months between our interviews.

Are you sure that it can still get waived even though it already says "ready to be scheduled for interview"? I wrote this on a different thread the other day because I've seen you saying this before and the people in that thread said that they've never heard of cases having that status and then all of a sudden getting the interview waived. These people said that and they've been looking into that and never found an actual case.

Anyways, do you know what my PD is though? It's now the RFIE receive date right?!

What they told me at my field office is that when the case is "ready" at NBC and is in line to be sent to the field office the status changes to "ready to be scheduled for interview". Once the field office has received the case they can decide if there will be an interview or not, and if the interview is waived they will send you a letter stating that. So yes, according to my field office you can definitely get waived despite that status. How common it is I don't know.

I'm not sure about your other question so I can't answer that for you. I know an RFIE can affect the EAD/AP, not sure about the actual AOS.
