Hi,

Thanks all for the good information on this site. I'm trying to find information about evidence of employment for form I-864A. My wife, who doesn't work, is petitioning for her mom to come to the US. I planned to be the sponsor for the affidavit, and learned my wife actually has to be the sponsor and I would be the family member to help with the sponsorship. We started the petition last November, 2016 and just recently got the approval and it is in processing at the NVC now. I was working full-time until April of this year when my position was no longer needed and I was let go. I found a full-time contract position in May. I'm considered an employee of the company that pays me, but I do the work for a client that is a different company.

My concern is that the offer letter says I will only work for them for 78 days, but the client will renew my contract indefinitely. Do I need to provide the offer letter from them and somehow explain the client will keep renewing my contract? Or just proved pay stubs? Or both? And how many pay stubs do I need to provide? (Unfortunately I can't wait on hold for a long time to talk directly to the NVC to ask them about this).

Thank you for any help!

So I decided to write up a letter explaining my termination from my job and my start of my current contract job. Hopefully that will work.

But now I have a question on Current Individual Annual Income:

I started the contract position on May 24. Do I calculate my annual income from that date until the end of the year? Do I add the earnings from my previous employer? Or do I just calculate a 52 week pay based on the rate I get currently?

If I add my previous employment pay for this year plus a calculated rate from start date to the end of the year, it is less than a 52 week pay based on my current rate.

I feel I'm making this more complicated than it should be.
