Well.. I got the emails today responding to 2 of my emails.. and again they were of NO HELP...

Here is My emails First and Their reply :

Dear Sir or Madam

I had contacted the NVC to see when you had Mailed the Packet 3 to my husband. I was told it was mailed on March 25th. I am concerned because it has now been over 2 weeks and he has NOT received it. Was there a tracking number that went with the Packet 3? Or is there anyway you could possibly mail it again? My husband has collected all the Documents that are required for the Packet 3/4 and we are very anxious to mail them in. If there are any questions OR concerns please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for you time;

Domenica and Mohamed

Dear Madam:

Thank you for your e-mail message.

If your husband has collected the packet 3, then he should complete them and mail them to us visa the DHL courier service.

Regards,

Consular staff

... Um.. did they even read it???? Here's the second one

Dear Sir or Madame,

We have Not received the Packet 3 yet. I was wondering.. My husband and I already have all the papers put together. Can we just mail them to you? We have the DS-157, DS-156, I-134 financial information, all his police, military and birth certificates. Last week Mohamed did the physical & x- ray.

As to prevent any further delay, May we please mail you the information with out actually receiving the Packet 3?

Thank you for you time,

Domenica and Mohamed

Dear Madam:

Thank you for your e-mail message.

Please mail all the forms to us except for the X-ray via the DHL courier service.

Regards,

Consular staff

ni

Okay... so we can Just mail it in then???

I am confused that a Packet 3 we were given a Year ago Said to Mail in the I864 for the Affidavit... BUT everyone on there said the I 134???

So.. Any one out if Egypt.. who got a Packet 3 in LESS than a year... Which form did it use????

AND when you mail with DHL you have to also include a Pre paid package too?? the same weight as what you are mailing???

Heee! My best friend's name is Dominica, like Dough-mihn-nee-kuh, but anyway, that has absolutely nothing to do with your question.

Ok! Are you going on the I-129F or the I-130 of your K3? That's the difference. If you're going on the I-129F, then you need all those DS156-7s, I134, etc. If you're on the I-130 then you do the I-864. At least this is how Jordan works.

(Embassies rarely actually read emails IMO, they just pick a sentence and reply to it, and you hope it was the one with your question :) )

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

Dee...they obviously didn't read your email correctly. It sounds like they are assuming your husband received his packet 3 already. It's your call but personally I would wait until he gets it instead of just sending it in at this point. To answer your question, we used the I134. It seems the packet 3 requirements change routinely so a packet 3 from a year ago isn't accurate. If you send in the packet 3 before he actually receives one from the embassy it could result in missing documents therefore more delays. I know you must be terribly frustrated but really do you want to risk more delays or other problems? I wouldn't.

The second email tells me that they believe he received his packet 3. They probably didn't read the part where you stated that you didn't receive it. They probably read that you collected all that documentation. From what you posted, it seems you have all the required documentation. I guess because I know how Cairo is and how picky they are, I'm skiddish. I don't think it would hurt to send that stuff in. The only thing they could do is make you do it over again. Which would be insanely ridiculous but this is Cairo we're talking about here.

We have assumed in the past that the individuals responsible for replying to the emails do not speak English as a first language, although their English is very good. I learned that I had to be as short, literal and to the point as possible to get any kind of information that spoke to me clearly. I would send one more email and ask bluntly:

May we send the appurtenant forms and information to you via DHL even if my fiance did not receive his packet 3?

I realize this is so very close to what you asked in your second email. Upon my interpretation, I would have just sent the information in without receiving packet 3.

One suggestion... IF you do send it in, I would follow up with an email after a few weeks reiterating that you submitted it, asking if they have indeed received it, and asking them to note in your case file that packet 3 was never received. I would also request confirmation that they have done so, although you never know if they'll comply or not. SAVE all your emails to them.

I would leave out the word "appurtenant". It doesn't make sense and would certainly confuse a second language english speaker.

D, did you contact your congressman about this yet?

Considering that getting an interview is taking 10 plus weeks......and after reading the response of the 2nd email......I would send in his documents. Just make sure you have a complete copy of everything.....just in case the missing packet 3 happens to show up.......the worst that could happen, like moody said, is that they would make you resubmit everything again. I really think that they think your husband has received the packet 3 since their system says it was sent out on March 25. Send the stuff in so that, if it is accepted, you've won yourself some time. Wait about 2 weeks after your husband sends in the documents.....then call the DOS # and check on the status of the case. They should tell you that the embassy has received the packet 3 papers, that everything was uploaded into the computer system, and that now his status is pending waiting interview scheduling.

Good luck Dee.....I really hope it works out for you

When my husband received his packet 3 it didn't even ask for an affidavit of support....neither an I864 or I134......it just asked for pay stubs, bank statements, and a letter from my employer. But, I sent in the I134 & the supporting tax documents.

It seems that your husband has all of the necessary documents.....but, before your husband sends in the papers Dee......I think he has to go to CIB bank & pay for the actual visa.....and get a receipt from the bank saying that he paid. This receipt needs to be returned with his documents via DHL to the embassy. I hope that I am remembering the name of the bank correctly and if I'm not mistaken, I think it is $100 dollars that have to be paid for a K3 visa, although I know that they could pay in Egyptian pounds.

You are correct...he must go to CIB bank and pay for the visa then send in the receipt. Our packet 3 didn't ask for an affidavit of support either. I sent him the I134 and supporting income info anyways. Also, about CIB bank...I'm not sure if they ask to see the packet 3 with the name or not. M&N, do you know?

I'll have him send my I134 anyways.. But I was wondering if there was like a "packet 3" receipt.. but from what I gather.. there is nothing like that??
