This is proving to be more stressful then filling out any of the applications. Can anyone who has been to Juarez recently, recommend a hotel? I have been on trip advisor for the last 3 hours, and every hotel that is close to the Consulate area are not very good. Rude staff, sewage smell, dirty, poor breakfast...and so on. We are really running low on $, but I also don't want to sleep on concrete and cockroaches. We are only there for 2 nights, and with the appointments being so spread out, we have alot of down time. And with Juarez not being a nice city in the slightest, we will be at the hotel alot, and prefer to stay around the "safe zone" of the Consulate. Please help!

Why don't you try a safe house? The guy who helped us fill the immigration paper work recommmeded somebody down in Juarez we got in contact with him and he is gonna charge us 50 dollars a day including transportation to where we need to go..

I think we just wanted the less stressful approach. Not needing to buy grocery's and being literally a walk away from all appointments, so we only need ride to/from airport. I wish two appointments could happen in one day realistically so we could be in and out in two days. Juarez is literally the last place I ever wanted to see in my 8 years in Mexico.

Ibis hotel and City Express are very close to the consulate and the shopping center. Very safe. Ibis will be less expensive if you can book as soon as possible, great rates if you book more than 4 weeks in advance. I stayed at both, not great, but not a nightmare either. 2 of my friends stayed at a "casa de huespedes" and they didn't like it, the person running the house charged them for everything and the WIFI signal was from a neighbor. They had to go back 2 months later and they stayed at the Microtel and they loved it. The Microtel is also in the same block as the consulate.  Good luck!

What has made my cut... Holiday Inn, Microtel, Quality Inn, City Express Jr and Hotel Extended Suites. This is based off reviews on Tripadviosr and proximity to appointments. Must book asap before rates change.

Thanks for your input :)
