Hello Visa Journey Members,

My interview is in May 2006 and I am the us citizen/ Sponser for my husband. My question is do I need to take with me proof of taxes for the past three years or only for the current year (2005). In the I-865 application it says the last 3 years but in the uscis website it says they are only asking for the current year.

I am confused because for the current year I have my taxes but the other years I was my mothers dependent. What should I do???

USCIS updates their website more frequently than they do their forms, because it's cheap and easy to update the website, but every time they update the forms they have to reprint and redistribute to all the offices. So the website info is the most current, and the latest word on their policy is that they only require one year of tax returns. The form still says three years but that's because they haven't updated it yet.

"When all else fails, read the instructions."
